O.J. Simpson and two co-defendants must face trial on kidnapping, armed robbery and other charges, a justice of the peace ruled on Wednesday.
Justice of the Peace Joe M. Bonaventure ruled after a preliminary hearing on the charges and arguments against the case by lawyers for Simpson and co-defendants Clarence "C.J." Stewart and Charles "Charlie" Ehrlich.
The charges stem from the alleged robbery of sports memorabilia dealers at a Las Vegas hotel on Sept. 13. None of the charges in a 12-count complaint against the three men was dropped.
If convicted of kidnapping, the former NFL star could face up to a life sentence. An armed robbery conviction would mean some time in prison.
Simpson has maintained he was attempting to recover items stolen from him.
