How do I register for a Government of Canada epass to access the CRA epass services?

My Account for individuals / My Business Account

To access the services under My Account for individuals or My Business Account for the first time you will be asked to register for a Government of Canada epass. This registration process is done in three steps and you will be required to provide some personal information, create a userid and password and enter a CRA Security Code that is mailed to you. Once you have completed the registration process, you will be able to access your personal information within My Account for individuals or My Business Account by simply logging in, using your User ID and Password. Note
For My Business Account you will also need to enter your Business Number.

Represent a client

To access the Represent a client service, you will need to register for a Government of Canada epass. This registration process requires you to authenticate using your Notice of Assessment access code and your postal code or ZIP code. Once you have completed the epass registration process, you will be able to access the Represent a client service by simply logging in, using your User ID and Password. • Have you moved recently? We need your current address before you can register for a Government of Canada epass and enrol with My Account for individuals or My Business Account. If you have moved recently and are registering for an epass with the CRA for the first time, please contact our Individual Income Tax Enquiries or the e-service Helpdesk to change your address. If you already have an epass and want to change your address online, select Log in to My Account.
  
  
• Get your personal information ready to register for a Government of Canada epass and to enrol with My Account for individuals or My Business Account.
  
  
• Get your access code from your Notice of Assessment and your postal code or ZIP code ready to register for a Government of Canada epass and enrol with Represent a client.
  
  
• Make sure your operating system and browser are supported. If not, you may need to download a complete browser package or upgrade the one you have.
  
  
• Check that your cookies are turned on in your browser settings.
  
  
• Make sure that the Java Virtual Machine (JVM)/Javascript is enabled.
  
  
• Confirm that the CRA epass services are available by checking the hours of service.
  
  
• Already have an epass with another department or agency? You can log in using your epass User ID and Password, but before you can access the CRA epass services, you will have to enrol with the service you want to use.
