Services designed for Executive

ECS personalized services for executives have helped several thousand public servants bring out the best in their career. Through our consultation, coaching, mentoring and counselling services, we foster the insight our clients need to make wise decisions and to turn challenging situations into development opportunities.

While ECS tailors its solutions to the individual needs of each client, our services are of essentially two types - EX support and EX development.

  • EX support services: ECS offers a supportive environment for executives dealing with the responsibility for organizational performance. Clients can explore difficult issues, get assistance to meet current challenges and explore their options during periods of career transition.
  • EX development services: ECS helps executives address their learning needs on an individual basis and create effective strategies to move toward their career objectives. Our focus is on enhancing leadership competence at all levels beginning at entry to the EX group.

Test Services supports assessment in the Public Service by providing occupational and second language assessment instruments and related scoring services to the Public Service at large. Services include:

  • Shipping and receiving of test material
  • Test scoring services for occupational tests and second language evaluation
  • Test administration procedures and training of test administrators
  • Registration of test centres and examiners for second language test system
  • Second Language Evaluation Oral Interaction Test

The following form is only available to Human Resource Officer that are registered with the PPC working for the federal government; if this is not you, then you will not have access to the form requesting test material.

Confirmation of previous test results by e-form or by fax

To obtain a confirmation of previous test results, e.g., a test written in the past; send a request by fax at (613) 992-9694 indicating:

  • your name (put the name that you used on the answer sheet at that time if different than now),
  • your Personnel Record Identifier (PRI), if you are a Public Servant, (note that a data search cannot be done using your Social Insurance Number),
  • the name and/or number of the test (i.e., Office Skills Test or Test 200),
  • your date of birth,
  • your fax number (include your address if you want the confirmation to be sent to your home).

Note: Confirmation of previous test results is only done for Public Service Commission (PSC) tests. Expect a 5 day turnaround time.

Oral Interaction Quality Control

This unit is responsible for ensuring that Second Language Evaluation (SLE) Oral Interaction (OI) tests are administered and rated according to standards set for the test. Major responsibilities include selecting, training, certifying, and monitoring the work of OI assessors, and determining what actions will be taken in response to complaints about how a test has been administered. As well, we are available to respond to your questions about the OI Test and to give information sessions on the test, and we provide a consultation service used to determine accommodations on the SLE Reading, Writing, and OI Tests for candidates with disabilities.

Occupational Test Development develops cost-effective screening tools and assessment tools tailored to specific jobs or competencies for officer and administrative support positions. Examples include:

Quality Assurance and Equity in Assessment

This newly created Project Team addresses professional standards ethics, quality assurance and employment equity with respect to the assessment instruments developed and created by the Research and Development Division. We can help you to:

  • Better meet employment equity goals by providing information on principles of fair and equitable assessment
  • Evaluate your own assessment instruments by providing information on standards of reliability, validity, fairness and adverse impact
  • Develop your own assessment instruments by providing professional guidelines for developing standardized instruments

Quantitative Analyses

  • Analytical reports on assessment results for groups of candidates from various departments(e.g., the managerial competencies of groups assessed at EXA from Department Y)
  • Development and analysis of surveys/survey results related to HR issues
  • Psychometric and research analyses and advice to senior management regarding the use and added value of assessment tools
