Re-engineering

The Registered Plans Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency is currently re-engineering how we deliver the Registered Plans program. Our objective is to improve how the program is delivered and regulated.

This initiative was developed in consultation with industry stakeholders, Directorate employees and managers, the Department of Finance and other affected parties.

The Directorate has identified two options to improve service delivery:

  1. Self-assessment - increased emphasis and reliance is placed on clients to self-assess and report compliance.
  2. Risk-based Supervision - using a combination of tools, the Directorate shifts the emphasis of review from the approval of plan documents to the selective review of operating plans.

We encourage you to visit this site regularly, as we will be publishing updates to this site on our new processes. We have also introduced an electronic mailing list where interested parties can subscribe and be notified when new items are posted to the Web site.

Any comments, suggestions or questions concerning this project can be directed to the reengineering project team at RPDRG-DRERG@cra-arc.gc.ca.
