December 31 of the year you turn 71 (under proposed legislation) is the last day you can contribute to your RRSP. See Options when turning 71 if this situation applies to you.
You can transfer your holdings of past series compound-interest Canada Savings Bonds to your RRSPs or your spouse's RRSPs or common-law partner's RRSPs. The amount you transfer is considered a contribution to the RRSP. For more information, contact your RRSP issuer.
