
WELCOME TO THE
TAX COURT OF CANADA
The Tax Court of Canada is a specialized court of law whose jurisdiction extends to several Acts of Parliament (see Jurisdiction), and most notably the Income Tax Act, the Excise Tax Act (Part IX), and several provisions of the Employment Insurance Act.
The Tax Court of Canada was established in its current form in 1983 (see
History of the Court). It obtained the
status of superior court of record in July 2003.
