I am pleased to advise you that the Treasury Board has approved the application of performance pay to non-management
category senior excluded employees with respect to the fiscal year 1996-97, effective July 1, 1997.
Senior excluded employees in Administrative Services (AS-7 and AS-8); Computer Systems (CS-5); Financial
Administration (FI-4); Information Services (IS-6); Personnel Administration (PE-6); Purchasing and Supply (PG-6);
Translation (TR-4 & TR-5); and Welfare Programmes (WP-7) will have their performance pay administered in accordance
with the Performance Pay Provisions of the Salary Administration Plan for Certain Non-Management Category Senior
Excluded Levels.
Employees in the Mediation-Conciliation Officer Sub-Group of the Programme Administration Group (PM-MCO) will have
their performance pay administered in accordance with the Performance Pay Provisions of the Salary Administration Plan
- Mediation-Conciliation Officer Sub-Group.
Detailed reporting requirements on performance pay administration will be provided to your Director of Human
Resources under separate cover. If your officials have any questions on the application of performance pay, please have
them contact the Executive and Excluded Groups Compensation Group in the Classification and Excluded Groups Division of
the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
A copy of this letter is being sent to your Director of Human Resources. I am attaching a copy of the French version
of this letter for the use of your French-speaking officers.
