Subject: Policies and Guidelines for Ministers' Offices

Details:

The Policies and Guidelines for Ministers' Offices of October 2006 have been updated. This bulletin is to inform you of the revisions that have been made.

They are:

  • The document has been revised to reflect changes to the Ministry announced January 4, 2007, which now include Secretaries of State. Those policies and guidelines that refer to a "Minister" or to "Ministers" will apply to a "Secretary of State" or to "Secretaries of State" wherever applicable. In addition, text that refers to a Minister's "Chief of Staff" will apply to a Secretary's of State "Staff Director" wherever applicable, with the exception of entitlements to parking referenced in Section 8.2.
  • New budgets and exempt and departmental staff complements have been approved for Secretaries of State.
  • A new exempt staff position has been added, a Staff Director, equivalent to the public service EX-01 maximum salary.
