Electricity Resources Branch

The Electricity Resources Branch is organized of the Nuclear Energy Division, the Uranium and Radioactive Waste Division and the Renewable and Electrical Energy Division. The mandates of these three divisions all interface with the electricity sector in Canada. The Nuclear Energy Division provides information, analysis and advice on nuclear energy and the Canadian nuclear industry. The Uranium and Radioactive Waste Division provides information, analysis and advice on the uranium industry, one of Canada's leading export industries, and on the management of radioactive waste in Canada. The Renewable and Electrical Energy Division provides information, analysis and advice in furthering the development and use of renewable energy and in supporting federal interests in the electricity sector.

Within the branch's portfolio, the Energy Infrastructure Protection Division coordinates initiatives aimed at enhancing the state of security and levels of protection at critical Canadian energy production and transportation facilities.
