The Canadian Wood Fibre Centre brings together forest sector researchers to develop solutions for the Canadian forest sector’s wood fibre related industries in an environmentally responsible manner. Its mission is to create innovative knowledge to expand the economic opportunities for the forest sector to benefit from Canadian wood fibre.
FPInnovations was created through the consolidation of Canada’s three leading forest sector research institutes (FERIC, Forintek and Paprican), and the structuring of the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre within the Canadian Forest Service (CFS) of Natural Resources Canada. The Canadian Wood Fibre Centre operates within the CFS, but under the umbrella of FPInnovations’ Board of Directors.
The Canadian Wood Fibre Centre will create innovative knowledge to expand the economic opportunities for the forest sector to benefit from Canadian wood fibre.
Canada’s wood fibre is sustainably managed to give the forest sector a strong competitive advantage in a global marketplace.
