11/16/2007 Larry Johnson, RB (KC) Eleven days after injuring his foot in a game against Green Bay, Johnson is moving better and the swelling has reduced.

Analysis: Though ruled out for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, Johnson says he will play again this season. There was a report last week that Johnson had broken his foot, and the Chiefs have been coy about the severity of the injury, saying only that it was a mid-foot sprain. Johnson didn't clarify the diagnosis, saying only that he's doing everything he can to speed up his return.
11/15/2007 Ashley Lelie, WR (SF) Lelie will miss the San Francisco 49ers' game against St. Louis after straining his quadriceps in practice Wednesday.

Analysis: Rookie Jason Hill and veteran Bryan Gilmore are expected to get more playing time in Lelie's absence.
11/15/2007 Eric Green, CB (Ari) Arizona Cardinals starting cornerback Eric Green injured his left ankle in practice on Thursday.

Analysis: The injury adds another problem to a secondary that could be without Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson for Sunday's game at Cincinnati. Green was on crutches and the ankle was visibly swollen in the locker room after the team's workout. Neither Green nor coach Ken Whisenhunt would talk about the injury, but Green said he would have an X-ray to determine the extent of the injury.
11/15/2007 Ryan Clark, S (Pit) Clark's spleen was removed during surgery Thursday, a day after he was placed on injured reserve.

Analysis: Clark cannot play again this season, but is expected to resume his football career next year if he has no further complications. Clark had problems with his spleen while he was with the Washington Redskins, but they did not prevent him from playing a full season with Pittsburgh in 2006.
11/15/2007 John Lynch, S (Den) Denver's star safety said he should be ready to play against Tennessee on Monday night after going through a full-contact practice Thursday for the first time in weeks.

Analysis: Lynch pinched a nerve in his neck the last time the Broncos played on Monday night, against Green Bay on Oct. 30. He hasn't played since. The secondary had mixed results with Lynch out. The defense surrendered 246 yards passing and two touchdowns against Detroit in a 44-7 loss the week after Lynch went down. The Broncos bounced back against Kansas City, allowing just 217 yards passing and no touchdowns to go along with three interceptions in a 27-11 win.
11/15/2007 Laurence Maroney, RB (NE) Maroney isn't isn't complaining that on a team with 46 touchdowns in nine games, he hasn't scored.

Analysis: Maroney says he's content to see Randy Moss and Wes Welker catch TD passes while New England wins every game. He should be the featured back when the Patriots put their 9-0 record on the line Sunday night at Buffalo. He had his best performance of the season against the Bills, rushing for 103 yards in a 38-7 win Sept. 23.
11/15/2007 Zach Thomas, LB (Mia) Thomas has yet to be ruled out of Sunday's game at Philadelphia and said he hopes to return this season. Despite a recent history of concussions and migraines, he plans to play next year.

Analysis: The seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker said he remains sidelined because he's lightheaded at times. His cognitive test results are fine, he said. Thomas has been sidelined since he was involved in a car accident driving home from a loss to the New England Patriots on Oct. 21. He missed two games in September with a concussion. Continue to monitor Thomas' status as he appears to be improving.
11/15/2007 Antonio Pierce, LB (NYG) Pierce vowed to play for the New York Giants against the Detroit Lions despite nagging ``little headaches'' from a concussion suffered last weekend.

Analysis: Pierce refused to say whether the medical staff had cleared him to practice, noting that he had cleared himself to work out on Friday. Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Pierce's condition had improved in recent days.
11/15/2007 Laveranues Coles, WR (NYJ) Coles has been practicing with the team since last week after missing a game with a concussion, and hopes to play Sunday against Pittsburgh.

Analysis: Coles also intends to play with the same intensity he always does, despite suffering what was believed to be his second concussion in 10 months. Coles, who doesn't appear on the team's injury report, was hurt on a hard tackle during the Jets' 13-3 loss to Buffalo on Oct. 28. This is good news for fantasy owners as Coles appears ready to return.
11/15/2007 David Stewart, T (Ten) Stewart (ankle) did not practice on Thursday, but Titans coach Jeff Fisher said he is improving.

Analysis: Stewart started 14 games last season and hasn't missed a start this season. If he can't play, three-year veteran Daniel Loper would be on the line for his first NFL start.
11/15/2007 Nick Harper, CB (Ten) Harper (concussion) did not practice for the Titans on Thursday, but coach Jeff Fisher said he is improving.

Analysis: The Titans worked Kelly Herndon in Harper's spot at left cornerback Wednesday. Continue to monitor the developments.
11/15/2007 Albert Haynesworth, DT (Ten) Haynesworth missed his fifth straight practice Thursday with his sore right hamstring, but Titans coach Jeff Fisher said he is improving.

Analysis: Haynesworth missed his first game this season last weekend in a 28-13 loss to Jacksonville, and the Titans (6-3) gave up a season-high 166 yards rushing without him. He said sitting out was tough. Monitor Haynesworth's status as it could change leading up to Sunday's game.
11/15/2007 D'Qwell Jackson, LB (Cle) Jackson practiced on a limited basis Thursday, making it possible the trio could play on Sunday at Baltimore.

Analysis: Jackson, the club's leading tackler before getting hurt in an Oct. 28 game at St. Louis, has been sidelined the past two weeks. Andra Davis and Leon Williams have each played more at inside linebacker while Jackson recovers. Continue to monitor Jackson's progress throughout the week to see if he is able to return Sunday.
11/15/2007 Antwan Peek, LB (Cle) Peek (knee) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, making it possible the trio could play on Sunday at Baltimore.

Analysis: Peek played in last Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh. Peek said before Thursday's workout that he will play against the Ravens, but monitor his progress throughout the week.
11/15/2007 Willie McGinest, LB (Cle) McGinest (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, making it possible the trio could play on Sunday at Baltimore.

Analysis: McGinest played in last Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh. The 36-year-old McGinest is eager to atone for what he called ``my worst game as a Cleveland Brown'' last week against the Steelers. McGinest was upset with himself for failing to tackle quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on a crucial third-down play in the fourth quarter, when the Steelers rallied.
11/15/2007 Nathan Vasher, CB (Chi) According to the Chicago Tribune, Vasher practiced Thursday.

Analysis: It is unsure if Vasher will be on the field Sunday versus Denver. He has missed the last six games with a groin injury.
11/15/2007 Alex Smith, QB (SF) Smith will not start Sunday after finally acknowledging a serious arm injury has been affecting his play.

Analysis: Smith and his coach had a lengthy meeting Wednesday following the quarterback's public disclosure that his recently separated right shoulder led to a forearm injury that prevents him from throwing well. Smith and Nolan both had previously denied Smith's arm injury was causing his poor play. Smith said his forearm still hurt, and he planned to sit out most of practice Thursday for the second straight day.
11/15/2007 Trent Dilfer, QB (SF) Dilfer will start for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in place of quarterback Alex Smith, who finally acknowledged a serious arm injury has been affecting his play.

Analysis: Dilfer, the 14-year veteran who struggled through three straight losses while filling in for Smith, got the assignment Thursday from coach Mike Nolan. Dilfer got his first snaps since 2005 after Smith was injured on the third play of San Francisco's loss to Seattle on Sept. 30.
11/15/2007 Leonard Davis, T (Dal) Davis missed practice Thursday, a day after somebody rolled on his ankle during a workout. Davis was on the field in shorts and didn't appear to be limping.

Analysis: After Davis was hurt Wednesday, coach Wade Phillips said Davis would be checked out by doctors. The coach didn't know the extent of the injury then, but said it was a good sign that Davis walked off under his own power.
11/15/2007 Steve Smith, WR (Car) Smith missed his second straight practice Thursday with a shin injury.

Analysis: The team provided no further details on the seriousness of the injury. Smith also sat out practice Wednesday.
11/15/2007 Jimmy Farris, WR (Was) The Redskins signed Farris, who spent part of the 2005 season with Washington.

Analysis: Farris will likely be active for Sunday's game against Dallas because the Redskins have only three other healthy receivers: Antwaan Randle El, Keenan McCardell and Reche Caldwell. He was cut at the end of the 2006 preseason and was in training camp with Jacksonville this year.
11/15/2007 Brandon Lloyd, WR (Was) Lloyd will miss the rest of the season after being placed on injured reserve Thursday. Lloyd broke his collarbone during practice on Wednesday.

Analysis: The move ends Lloyd's season and possibly his tenure with the Redskins. He has only 25 catches with no touchdowns since Washington traded for him and then signed him to a multiyear contract last year. He has only two receptions this season and wasn't allowed to travel to the game against the New York Jets two weeks ago after missing a team meeting.
11/15/2007 Ricky Williams, RB (Mia) Williams arrived at the Miami Dolphins complex riding in a team van late Thursday morning, ready to resume his NFL career after a 1 1/2-year suspension - if the team wants him.

Analysis: Williams' suspension ended Wednesday when he was reinstated by the NFL. Williams, who has played in only 12 games since the start of the 2004 season, arrived at the Dolphins' complex to meet with coach Cam Cameron. On Wednesday, Cameron said he talked with Williams by phone for "five or six minutes," but hadn't made a decision about activating him. Monitor the developments as Williams could have fantasy value if he can get back on the field.
11/14/2007 John Owens, TE (Det) The Detroit Lions on Wednesday claimed tight end John Owens off waivers.

Analysis: Detroit drafted Owens out of Notre Dame in the fifth round (138th overall) in 2002 and he spent his first two seasons with the Lions. He split the 2004 season between Detroit and Chicago and played in 2005-06 with the New Orleans Saints.
11/14/2007 Albert Haynesworth, DT (Ten) Haynesworth sat out a light practice Wednesday with the Titans with a right hamstring injury.

Analysis: Haynesworth missed his first game this season last weekend in a 28-13 loss to Jacksonville, and the Titans (6-3) gave up a season-high 166 yards rushing without him. He said sitting out was tough.
11/14/2007 Rex Grossman, QB (Chi) Grossman has his job back as the Chicago Bears' starting quarterback. At least for one week. He'll replace the injured Brian Griese in Sunday's game in Seattle.

Analysis: Grossman relieved Griese after he went down with a sprained left shoulder against Oakland on Sunday and threw a go-ahead 59-yard TD pass to Bernard Berrian to lead the Bears to a 17-6 victory. Monitor the developments as Grossman has already lost the job once this season. If he can hold onto the job, his fantasy value could increase.
11/14/2007 Marshawn Lynch, RB (Buf) Bills coach Dick Jauron on Wednesday all but ruled out Lynch from playing after the rookie missed practice because of a severely sprained left ankle. "It's very sore right now and I would say we're not overly optimistic," Jauron said, referring to the chances of Lynch playing.

Analysis: Jauron also raised concerns that the injury, which Lynch got in a 13-10 win at Miami on Sunday, might be severe enough to keep him out for more than one week. Continue to monitor Lynch's status as his absence is a serious blow to the Bills' offense. In place of Lynch, the Bills would go with a combination of rookie fourth-round pick Dwayne Wright and veteran backup Anthony Thomas.
11/14/2007 Aubrayo Franklin, DT (SF) Franklin will miss the next four weeks after straining his right calf in the 49ers' loss at Seattle on Monday night.

Analysis: Franklin, in his first year on the 49ers' defensive line after years as a backup in Baltimore, has 36 tackles as a solid gap-plugger in San Francisco's 3-4 defensive fronts. Isaac Sopoaga is expected to start in Franklin's spot against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, while Marques Douglas also will play extensively at the position.
11/14/2007 Joey Harrington, QB (Atl) Harrington was declared the Falcons' backup quarterback to Byron Leftwich, who has an injured ankle, on Wednesday despite leading them to consecutive victories.

Analysis: Harrington, who was 19-of-26 for 192 yards in last week's win at Carolina, was stunned by the decision, which he claims was not conveyed to him before coach Bobby Petrino announced it to the media. Leftwich practiced with the second string offense on Wednesday and his status for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay is uncertain. Continue monitoring the developments as Harrington's fantasy value could drop suddenly.
11/14/2007 Byron Leftwich, QB (Atl) Even though Joey Harrington led Atlanta to two straight victories, Byron Leftwich remains the No. 1 quarterback for the Falcons.

Analysis: Coach Bobby Petrino made it clear Wednesday that Leftwich will reclaim the starting spot as soon as he recovers from a sprained ankle. The quarterback practiced with the second string on Wednesday and his status for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay is still uncertain. Continue to monitor the developments as it will hurt Harrington's fantasy value.
11/14/2007 Victor Worsley, LB (Ind) The Colts placed Worsley on injured reserve Wednesday with a foot injury.

Analysis: The reserve linebacker, who is an undrafted rookie, played a minimal role for the Colts in three games.
11/14/2007 Burl Toler, WR (Was) The Redskins added Toler to their practice squad on Wednesday, replacing offensive linemen Calvin Armstrong.

Analysis: Toler is an undrafted rookie out of California and has no fantasy value unless he can get promoted to the active roster.
11/14/2007 Brandon Lloyd, WR (Was) Lloyd broke his collarbone Wednesday and will be sidelined at least six weeks, the latest setback in his disappointing tenure in the nation's capital.

Analysis: Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs said Lloyd was hurt on the last play of practice when he caught a ball in the end zone. There was no other player involved. Lloyd has caught only two passes for 14 yards this season, having fallen out of favor with the coaches because of his work ethic and lack of productivity. He missed a team meeting two weeks ago and, as punishment, wasn't allowed to travel with the team for the following game against the New York Jets.
11/14/2007 Derrick Ward, RB (NYG) Ward (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.

Analysis: The running back has been bothered by ankle and groin injuries. He has not played since Oct. 21 versus San Francisco. Continue to monitor his progress, but things are not looking good.
11/14/2007 Plaxico Burress, WR (NYG) Burress (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.

Analysis: Burress has been bothered by his right ankle all season. He said on Monday it felt worse than at any time this season. Burress had four catches for 24 yards against Dallas on Sunday. While he leads the team with eight touchdown receptions, he has not caught a TD pass in three games. Continue to monitor Burress' progress. He continues to play through the injury, but it is hurting his fantasy value.
11/14/2007 Antonio Pierce, LB (NYG) Pierce missed the New York Giants practice on Wednesday because of a mild concussion.

Analysis: Pierce was hurt in the Giants' 31-20 loss to Dallas on Sunday and his status for Week 11 is still uncertain. Continue monitoring his progress.
11/14/2007 David Garrard, QB (Jac) Garrard practiced with the Jaguars' first-team offense Wednesday, the latest step in his return to the starting lineup.

Analysis: Garrard missed the last three games after spraining his left ankle Oct. 22 against Indianapolis. The Jaguars, who went 2-1 with Quinn Gray under center, expect Garrard back Sunday against San Diego. Garrard, who ran without pain last week, probably could have played Sunday at Tennessee. But the Jaguars decided to play it safe and hold him out one more week.
11/14/2007 Simeon Rice, DE (Ind) Rice was claimed off waivers by the Colts on Monday and could find himself replacing Dwight Freeney, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday with a foot injury.

Analysis: Rice, a 12-year veteran, should help the Colts defense after struggling for playing time with the Broncos before being waived.
11/14/2007 Dwight Freeney, DE (Ind) Freeney will miss the rest of the season after being place on injured reserve Wednesday with a foot injury.

Analysis: Freeney, the three-time Pro Bowler, is the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL. He injured his left foot in Sunday's loss to San Diego and was diagnosed with a Lis Franc injury that may require surgery. Simeon Rice, who the Colts claimed off waivers Monday from Denver, was expected to practice Wednesday with the team. Freeney's injury is a serious blow to the Colts defense.
11/14/2007 Greg Eslinger, C (Cle) The Browns signed Eslinger on Wednesday for added depth to an offensive line that lost starting guard Seth McKinney to a season-ending shoulder injury last week.

Analysis: Eslinger spent the season's first 10 weeks on Denver's practice squad. A sixth-round draft pick in 2006 by the Broncos, Eslinger spent last season on injured reserve. He sustained a shoulder injury during training camp that year.
11/14/2007 Ricky Williams, RB (Mia) Williams was reinstated by the NFL on Wednesday after being suspended for more than 18 months for violating the league's drug policy for the fourth time.

Analysis: The 30-year-old running back, who has played in only 12 games since the start of the 2004 season, applied for reinstatement to the NFL on Oct. 1. He tested positive again for marijuana in April, delaying his reinstatement through the first half of this season. The league said Williams can begin attending team meetings and practicing immediately, but will not be able to play in a game until Miami plays at Pittsburgh on Monday night, Nov. 26.
11/14/2007 Grant Mason, CB (Pit) The Steelers promoted Mason to the active roster on Wednesday after placing Jerame Tuman (back) and Ryan Clark (spleen) on injured reserve.

Analysis: Mason is undrafted rookie and expected to add depth to the secondary.
11/14/2007 Marvin Philip, C (Pit) The Steelers promoted Philip to the active roster on Wednesday after placing Jerame Tuman (back) and Ryan Clark (spleen) on injured reserve.

Analysis: Philip is expected to provide depth to the offensive line.
11/14/2007 Jerame Tuman, TE (Pit) Tuman, who has been out a month with a back injury, was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

Analysis: Tuman had no fantasy value when he was healthy. He had only one catch for nine yards in six games -- one start -- for the Steelers this season, providing depth behind starter Heath Miller.
11/14/2007 Ryan Clark, S (Pit) Clark was placed on injured reserve Wednesday because of a spleen problem that has sidelined him for three games.

Analysis: Clark, replaced by Anthony Smith, hasn't played since developing the spleen problem while playing in Denver's high altitude on Oct. 21.
11/14/2007 Jonathan Evans, RB (Buf) The Bills signed Evans to their practice squad on Wednesday after promoting offensive lineman Christian Gaddis to the active roster.

Analysis: Evans is an undrafted rookie and is not likely to see any playing time.
11/14/2007 Christian Gaddis, C (Buf) The Bills promoted Gaddis to their active roster on Wednesday after they placed Derek Schouman on injured reserve with a calf injury.

Analysis: Gaddis spent the previous four games on the practice squad. He is likely to just add depth to the Bills' offensive line.
11/14/2007 Tim Massaquoi, TE (Buf) The Bills signed Massaquoi after placing cornerback Kiwaukee Thomas on injured reserve with a groin injury.

Analysis: Massaquoi played eight games with Miami as a rookie last year and was released by the Dolphins in September. He is likely going to provide depth and has no fantasy value.
11/14/2007 Brad Cieslak, TE (Buf) The Bills signed Cieslak on Wednesday after placing Matt Murphy on injured reserve with a torn left calf muscle.

Analysis: Cieslak spent the previous two years with Buffalo before being released by the team before the season. He should see ample playing time, but does not have much fantasy value. The tight end has six catches for 46 yards in nine career games -- two starts -- over the last two seasons.
11/14/2007 Matt Murphy, TE (Buf) Murphy was placed on injured reserve Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season with a torn left calf muscle.

Analysis: Murphy appeared in two games this season. He became the third Bills' tight end to go on IR this season, following Kevin Everett (spinal cord), who was hurt in the season opener, and Derek Schouman (calf).
11/14/2007 Kiwaukee Thomas, CB (Buf) Thomas and will miss the rest of the season with a groin injury.

Analysis: Thomas, the nickel cornerback, hurt his groin in a 13-10 win at Miami last weekend. The roster moves Wednesday mean the Bills (5-4) are down to four cornerbacks when they play the New England Patriots (9-0) Sunday night. Thomas, an eight-year veteran, had 35 tackles in nine games, including three starts, this season.
11/14/2007 Cleo Lemon, QB (Mia) Lemon has been demoted to backup duties after the Dolphins decided to make rookie John Beck their starter for Sunday's game at Philadelphia.

Analysis: Lemon was ineffective in five games -- four starts -- this season, completing 57.3 percent of his passes for 923 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. The Dolphins are 0-9 and looking towards next season. Giving Beck a chance to play will help them evaluate if they need to draft another quarterback in April.
11/14/2007 John Beck, QB (Mia) Beck will make his NFL debut when he starts for the Dolphins on Sunday at Philadelphia, replacing Cleo Lemon with the first team.

Analysis: Beck, a second-round draft pick from BYU, will become the 12th quarterback to start for the Dolphins since Dan Marino retired following the 1999 season. He'll be the third starter at QB this season for winless Miami, following Trent Green and Lemon. Beck was the first quarterback drafted in the first or second round by the Dolphins since Marino. Giving him a tryout now will help them decide whether they need to acquire a quarterback in 2008.
11/13/2007 Kenny Peterson, DE (Den) Denver re-signed Peterson on Thursday.

Analysis: Peterson is a fifth-year defensive end whom the Broncos released Oct. 8 after he served a four-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy. He said he took a supplement that contained a banned ingredient.
11/13/2007 Billy Latsko, RB (Car) The Panthers re-signed Latsko to the practice squad Tuesday after waiving backup quarterback Drew Olson.

Analysis: The running back is an undrafted rookie that has yet to make his NFL debut. He is likely to see playing time on special teams and provide depth in the backfield.
11/13/2007 Drew Olson, QB (Car) The Panthers, getting healthier at quarterback, waived Olson on Tuesday. The Panthers brought in Olson after David Carr sustained his second concussion of the season a week earlier, and with Vinny Testaverde trying to recover from a right Achilles' tendon injury.

Analysis: Olson was signed to the practice squad last week, then elevated to the 53-man roster Saturday. Olson, who went undrafted out of UCLA and has never thrown a pass in the NFL, served as the emergency third quarterback in Carolina's loss to Atlanta on Sunday. Olson might end up with another NFL team as a backup, but he has no fantasy value.
11/13/2007 Roy Manning, LB (Cin) Manning was claimed off waivers by the Bengals on Tuesday after they placed Caleb Miller on injured reserve.

Analysis: Manning is a third-year player with limited NFL experience. He played in 15 games in 2005 for Green Bay, which originally signed him as an undrafted free agent from Michigan. He appeared in one game for Houston last year, when he ended the season on Buffalo's roster. He played for the Jaguars in the preseason and was signed by Jacksonville last week. He was on the inactive list for the Jaguars game at Tennessee on Sunday.
11/13/2007 Caleb Miller, LB (Cin) The Bengals put Miller on injured reserve Tuesday and claimed linebacker Roy Manning off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars, looking to add depth to their most depleted position.

Analysis: Miller missed the last six games with a sore back. The move to the injured list ends his season. He didn't have much fantasy value with seven tackles in three games -- one start.
11/13/2007 Isaac Bruce, WR (StL) Bruce suffered a strained left hamstring during the Rams' 37-29 win at New Orleans on Sunday and it is the same injury that caused him to miss two games earlier this season, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Analysis: Bruce's status is still uncertain, so monitor the developments with the injury.
11/13/2007 Plaxico Burress, WR (NYG) Burress is expected to continue playing this season despite being hampered by a nagging ankle injury for over two months, according to New York Newsday.

Analysis: Burress claims he is hurting from the injury and is missing practice time, but he appears to be committed to playing in games. The wide receiver has slowed down the last three weeks, catching 11 passes for 81 yards. Continue to monitor his performance and playing time to see just how much the injury is bothering him.
11/13/2007 Trent Edwards, QB (Buf) Edwards has been moved to the bench as the Bills have made J.P. Losman their starting quarterback for Sunday's game against New England.

Analysis: Edwards has been hampered by a right wrist injury and Losman has capitalized on the opportunity, helping the Bills to three consecutive wins. Edwards could regain the job if Losman struggles or gets hurt, but at this point he has no fantasy value.
11/13/2007 Priest Holmes, RB (KC) Holmes is expected to be the Chiefs No. 1 running back Sunday at Indianapolis after Larry Johnson was ruled out for a second consecutive game with a foot injury.

Analysis: Holmes rushed for 65 yards on 20 carries in a 27-11 loss to Denver in Week 10. The Chiefs' offense is struggling, which could be a problem for the veteran running back. He isn't much of a fantasy option besides insurance for Johnson owners.
11/13/2007 Curome Cox, S (Hou) The Texans placed cornerback Dunta Robinson on the injured reserve and signed Cox on Tuesday.

Analysis: Cox was released by Denver by Nov. 6 after playing for the Broncos since 2005. He appeared in seven games this season and had seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Cox has 53 tackles and two interceptions in his three-year NFL career. He'll likely add depth to the Texans' secondary.
11/13/2007 Dunta Robinson, CB (Hou) The Texans placed cornerback Dunta Robinson on the injured reserve and signed safety Curome Cox on Tuesday.

Analysis: Robinson tore his right anterior cruciate ligament and injured his hamstring making a tackle against Oakland. he was expected to miss the remainder of the season, so the news is expected.
11/13/2007 Bertrand Berry, DE (Ari) Berry will miss the rest of the season because of a torn left triceps.

Analysis: An MRI exam Monday confirmed the extent of the injury, Cardinals spokesman Mark Dalton said on Tuesday. Berry was hurt in Sunday's 31-21 victory over Detroit. It is the third year in a row Berry's season has ended prematurely. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday that Joe Tafoya and Darryl Blackstock would share the job in Berry's absence.
11/13/2007 Larry Johnson, RB (KC) The swelling in Johnson's injured right foot is subsiding, though not enough for the Kansas City Chiefs running back to play this week against the Indianapolis Colts.

Analysis: Johnson, injured two weeks ago while being tackled from behind by Green Bay's A.J. Hawk, is scheduled to meet with a foot specialist on Monday. The team is still calling the injury a mid-foot sprain despite a report last week saying he had a broken foot. The team ruled Johnson out for Sunday's game at Indianapolis and said his condition will be evaluated each week. Continue to monitor the developments as the situation appears to be turning negative for fantasy owners.
11/13/2007 J.P. Losman, QB (Buf) Two days after leading the Bills to another come-from-behind win, quarterback J.P. Losman was selected as the starter for Buffalo's game against unbeaten New England on Sunday. Coach Dick Jauron released a statement Tuesday on the quarterbacking situation.

Analysis: Losman completed just 12 of 23 passes for 157 yards and one interception against the Dolphins. He was also sacked twice and struggled during most of the first three quarters. He's now led the team to three straight wins, including three weeks ago against the Jets in a relief appearance after rookie starter Trent Edwards sprained his wrist. Edwards was inactive against the Bengals, but was the backup against Miami.
11/13/2007 Leigh Bodden, CB (Cle) Bodden will go on trial the day after the Super Bowl on charges of being verbally abusive with police at an airport. Cleveland Municipal Judge Anita Laster Mays on Tuesday set Bodden's trial for Feb. 4. Bodden is charged with misdemeanor aggravated disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and three traffic charges. If convicted, he faces a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Analysis: Bodden also could face discipline from the league under commissioner Roger Goodell's crackdown on player misconduct. He was picking up his girlfriend and their two children Sept. 5 at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Police say he drove in reverse down a one-way street, became verbally abusive and began to resist officers trying to place handcuffs on him. Monitor the developments as Bodden could be facing at least a suspension.
11/12/2007 David Garrard, QB (Jac) Garrard, who missed the last three games because of an ankle injury, anticipates returning to the starting lineup Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

Analysis: Garrard said he could have played Sunday at Tennessee, but team doctors decided to give him another week to recover from the high ankle sprain. Coach Jack Del Rio was less certain that Garrard would be under center Sunday. "We'll see how practice goes,'' he said. "He did OK last week. He wasn't quite ready. We anticipate he'll be better this week and we'll take a look on Wednesday and see how it goes.'"
11/12/2007 Brodie Croyle, QB (KC) Huard is out and Brodie Croyle is in as starting quarterback for the Chiefs.

Analysis: Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said Monday the strong-armed Croyle, who came in for a shaken-up Huard against Denver on Sunday, would start at Indianapolis this week as the Chiefs try to snap a two-game losing streak and revive one of the NFL's weakest offenses. Croyle was 17-for-30 for 162 yards, with one interception, in the 27-11 loss that dropped Kansas City to 4-5.
11/12/2007 Damon Huard, QB (KC) Huard is out and Brodie Croyle is in as starting quarterback for the Chiefs.

Huard, an 11-year veteran, was a career backup until he took over for the injured Trent Green last year and played well in eight games. Huard then beat out Croyle in the preseason for the starter's job.
11/12/2007 DeShaun Foster, RB (Car) Foster injured his toe in the Panthers' 20-13 loss to Atlanta on Sunday, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Analysis: Foster's status is uncertain, so monitor the developments throughout the week. The running back is a solid fantasy contributor with 588 rushing yards and two touchdowns through nine games.
11/12/2007 Terrell Owens, WR (Dal) Owens finished with six catches for 125 yards in a win over the Giants on Sunday.

Analysis: Owens, who also had two touchdowns, has three straight 100-yard receiving games.
11/12/2007 Jeremy Shockey, TE (NYG) Shockey tied his career high with 12 catches for 129 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

Analysis: Shockey, who also had a touchdown, posted season highs in receptions and yardage Sunday. He didn't have more than five catches in any previous game this season.
11/12/2007 Willie Parker, RB (Pit) Parker rushed for 105 yards on 25 carries in a win over Cleveland on Sunday.

Analysis: With 873 yards, Parker is well on his way to a third straight 1,000-yard season, but he has just two touchdowns, which doesn't help his fantasy owners. He had 16 last season.
11/12/2007 Selvin Young, RB (Den) Young rushed for 109 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown in Denver's win over Kansas City on Sunday.

Analysis: The TD was Young's first and the rest were career highs for the kid who could become the Broncos' featured back.
11/12/2007 Priest Holmes, RB (KC) Holmes, a three-time Pro Bowler, had 65 yards on 20 carries in his first start in more than two years in a loss to the Broncos on Sunday.

Analysis: "I feel great,'' he said. "I look forward to running that hill tomorrow and doing the things you have to do to build that base and make yourself better." Holmes is likely to see an increase of carries after Sunday's performance.
11/12/2007 Tarvaris Jackson, QB (Min) Jackson (concussion) is expected to start for the Vikings on Sunday against Oakland, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Analysis: Jackson has struggled as the Vikings' starter, but the team appears committed to his development. The second-year quarterback has completed 46.4 percent of his passes for 600 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions in five games this season.
11/12/2007 Dwayne Bowe, WR (KC) Bowe had nine catches for 105 yards for the Chiefs in their loss to the Broncos on Sunday.

Analysis: It was the second time this season Bowe has cracked the 100-yard mark and it was a career high in receptions for the rookie, who had no catches in a loss to Green Bay the week before.
11/12/2007 Maurice Jones-Drew, RB (Jac) Jones-Drew ran for 101 yards on 19 carries in the Jaguars' 28-13 win over the Titans on Sunday.

Analysis: This was a big day for Jones-Drew, considering it came against one of the league's top run defenses that had been giving up 66 yards per game.
11/12/2007 Robert Royal, TE (Buf) Royal suffered a mild concussion in the Bills' 13-10 win at Miami on Sunday, according to the team's official Web site.

Analysis: The Bills are hopeful that Royal can be healthy in time for their Week 11 contest against New England. If he can't play, then Matt Murphy could start in his place. Royal doesn't have much fantasy value with 13 catches for 136 yards and one touchdown in nine games.
11/12/2007 Jesse Chatman, RB (Mia) Chatman rushed for a career-high 124 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bills.

Analysis: With Ronnie Brown out, Chatman is the featured back, but the Miami offense is so poor, it's unlikely he will have many days like this. He is, though, a solid receiver out of the backfield.
11/12/2007 Marques Colston, WR (NO) Colston had eight catches for 129 yards in a loss to the Rams on Sunday.

Analysis: Colston has 18 receptions for 288 yards in his last two games, but does not have a TD in that span after catching three in a win over San Francisco on Oct. 28.
11/12/2007 Torry Holt, WR (StL) In Sunday's win over New Orleans, Holt had eight catches for 124 yards, torturing the New Orleans secondary with several clutch catches on third-and-long plays.

Analysis: The yardage was a season high for Holt, who has recorded 234 of his 700 yards in the last two games.
11/12/2007 Steve McNair, QB (Bal) If his ineffectiveness doesn't send Steve McNair to the Baltimore Ravens bench, perhaps a sore shoulder will.

Analysis: The struggling quarterback has developed "substantial soreness" in his non-throwing shoulder, Ravens coach Brian Billick said Monday. That, coupled with McNair's unsightly numbers over the past two weeks, could cause Billick to turn to Kyle Boller in Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. McNair has already missed time this season with groin and back injuries. Monitor the developments.
11/12/2007 Marc Bulger, QB (StL) Bulger finished 27-for-33 with 302 yards and short touchdown passes to Isaac Bruce and Drew Bennett on Sunday as the Rams posted a 37-29 win over New Orleans for their first victory of the season.

Analysis: Bulger has thrown for over 300 yards in each of his last two games, with three TDs and an interception.
11/12/2007 Pacman Jones, CB (Ten) The NFL Players Association hopes to convince commissioner Roger Goodell to change his mind and reduce Jones' season-long suspension, a union attorney said Monday. The union notified the NFL of its appeal in a letter dated Nov. 8 and asked for a hearing as soon as possible. The NFL declined to comment when asked about the union's appeal Sunday.

Analysis: Goodell did not reduce the punishments he gave defensive tackle Tank Johnson or Cincinnati receiver Chris Henry. He promised to review Jones' case after the Titans' 10th game, which will be played Monday night in Denver. But Goodell met with Jones on Nov. 2 and notified him Nov. 6 the suspension would not be shortened. Monitor the developments, but Jones is likely to remain suspended.
11/12/2007 Clinton Portis, RB (Was) Portis, who last week ended a 12-game drought without a 100-yard game, made it two in a row with 137 yards on 30 carries in a loss to the Eagles on Sunday.

Analysis: The Redskins could always use more consistency from Portis and the last two weeks could be an indication that he is ready to break out.
11/12/2007 Brian Westbrook, RB (Phi) Westbrook caught two touchdown passes and ran for another score, finishing with 20 carries for 100 yards and five receptions for 83 yards in a win versus the Redskins on Sunday.

Analysis: Westbrook recorded his first 100-yard rushing game in four contests. He may also be the team's top receiver.
11/12/2007 Donovan McNabb, QB (Phi) McNabb battled a sore shoulder throughout the second half and had to keep throwing while on the sideline to keep it warm. Still, he completed 20 of 28 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns Sunday in a 33-25 win over Washington.

Analysis: McNabb broke Ron Jaworski's Philadelphia Eagles record for most career completions, surpassing the old mark with a touchdown pass Sunday.
11/12/2007 Mark Clayton, WR (Bal) Clayton recorded season highs with eight catches for 107 yards in the Ravens' loss to Cincinnati on Sunday.

Analysis: Clayton has just 272 receiving yards this season and with the team's troubles at quarterback, is not a No. 1 fantasy receiver. Though with the team struggling, they could go to the air more in the final half of the season.
11/12/2007 Chris Henry, WR (Cin) Henry, playing for the first time after an eight-game suspension for violating the league's conduct policy, had four catches for 99 yards in Cincinnati's win over Baltimore on Sunday.

Analysis: The Bengals certainly missed Henry, who is a valuable fantasy receiver, even though he is on a roster that has Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
11/12/2007 Shayne Graham, K (Cin) Graham kicked a team-record seven field goals in the Bengals' 21-7 win over the punchless Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Analysis: Graham connected from 34, 19, 22, 35, 35, 21 and 33 yards. His seven field goals were one short of the NFL record set earlier this season by Tennessee's Rob Bironas, and Graham might have had the chance to tie the mark if the Bengals didn't run out the clock late in the game.
11/12/2007 Cullen Jenkins, DE (GB) Jenkins suffered a knee injury in the Packers' 34-0 win over Minnesota on Sunday.

Analysis: The severity of the injury is unknown. If he can't play in Week 11 against Carolina, then Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila could start in his place at right defensive end. Continue to monitor the developments.
11/12/2007 Reggie Wayne, WR (Ind) Wayne caught a season-high 10 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown for the Colts in their loss at San Diego on Sunday.

11/12/2007 Peyton Manning, QB (Ind) Manning completed 34 of a career-high 56 attempts for 328 yards with two touchdowns and a franchise-record six interceptions in a loss to San Diego on Sunday night.

Analysis: The previous franchise records for interceptions was five, done seven times, including four by Johnny Unitas. Manning had thrown just four interceptions coming into the game.
11/12/2007 Martrez Milner, TE (Atl) Milner suffered an ankle injury in the Falcons' 20-13 win at Carolina on Sunday.

Analysis: The severity of the injury is unknown, but the reserve tight end is not used much in the offense with nine catches for 50 yards in eight games as the backup to Alge Crumpler.
11/12/2007 Deke Cooper, S (Car) Cooper suffered a shoulder injury in the Panthers' 20-13 loss to Atlanta on Sunday.

Analysis: The severity of the injury is uncertain, but if the safety can't play in Week 11 at Green Bay, then Marquand Manuel could replace him in the starting lineup.
11/12/2007 Ryan Grant, RB (GB) Grant finished with a career-high 119 yards against a tough Vikings rush defense in Green Bay's win over the Minnesota on Sunday.

Analysis: Grant, the team's No. 1 back, had 81 yards in the first quarter, including a 30-yard touchdown run that gave the Packers an early 7-0 lead.
11/12/2007 Brett Favre, QB (GB) The three-time MVP took a hard hit late in the third quarter in Green Bay's 34-0 victory over Minnesota on Sunday when Vikings defensive end Kenechi Udeze caught Favre's head and jarred his neck as Favre tried to slide for a short gain. Favre, in his 246th consecutive start, stayed down for a moment, but remained in the game.

Analysis: Favre was 33-for-46 for 351 yards with three TDs against the Vikings and should start Sunday against Carolina. "I just checked on him, he checked out fine," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "He's not even on the medical list."
11/12/2007 Matt Roth, DE (Mia) Roth suffered a groin injury in the Dolphins' 13-10 loss to Buffalo on Sunday.

Analysis: The defensive end's status is uncertain, and if he can't play in Week 11 at Philadelphia, then Derreck Robinson could get his first career start.
11/12/2007 Brian Griese, QB (Chi) Coach Lovie Smith said Monday that Griese sprained his left shoulder Sunday in Oakland and needs medical clearance before he can play. Rex Grossman replaced Griese and threw the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Analysis: "It's unclear who will start Sunday,'' Smith said the day after a 17-6 win at Oakland gave the Bears a 4-5 record headed into this week's game at Seattle.
11/12/2007 Robert Royal, TE (Buf) Royal suffered a concussion in the Bills' 13-10 win at Miami on Sunday.

Analysis: The severity of the injury is uncertain and if he can't play in Week 11 against New England, Matt Murphy could start. Royal doesn't have much fantasy value with 13 catches for 136 yards and one touchdown in nine games.
11/12/2007 Rex Grossman, QB (Chi) Grossman came off the bench and rescued the Chicago Bears with a go-ahead touchdown pass Sunday in a win over Oakland, but that doesn't mean he's retained his starting spot.

Analysis: Coach Lovie Smith said Monday that Brian Griese sprained his left shoulder Sunday in Oakland and needs medical clearance before he can play. "It's unclear who will start Sunday," Smith said the day after a 17-6 win at Oakland gave the Bears a 4-5 record headed into this week's game at Seattle.

Analysis: The defensive end's status is uncertain, and if he can't play in Week 11 against Kansas City, then rookie Jeff Charleston could make his first career start. Continue to monitor Freeney's status as his absence could be a major blow to the Colts' defense.
11/12/2007 Mark Tauscher, T (GB) Tauscher suffered an ankle injury in the Packers' 34-0 win over Minnesota on Sunday.

11/12/2007 James Thrash, WR (Was) Thrash suffered an ankle injury in the Redskins' 33-25 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday.

Analysis: The wide receiver's status is uncertain. He had season highs of five catches and 85 yards in the loss to the Eagles, but the injury could be a major blow. Continue to monitor Thrash's progress.
11/12/2007 Marshawn Lynch, RB (Buf) Lynch will have further tests Monday on his sprained left ankle, but Bills coach Dick Jauron hopes the rookie running back will play against New England on Sunday. Jauron said Lynch is sore, but noted initial tests showed no broken bones after the player limped off the field after helping secure a come-from-behind 13-10 win at Miami on Sunday.

Analysis: The first-round pick out of California has been the Bills' most consistent offensive player, and has played a significant role in helping the team rebound from a 1-3 start. The touchdown against Miami was Lynch's team-leading sixth rushing this season. With a touchdown passing as well, Lynch has had a hand in seven of 10 touchdowns produced by the offense this year. Monitor Lynch's progress with the injury.
11/12/2007 Adrian Peterson, RB (Min) Peterson will miss Sunday's game against Oakland with a torn ligament in his right knee, Vikings coach Brad Childress said Monday.

Analysis: Childress said Peterson tore his lateral collateral ligament in the Vikings' 34-0 loss to Green Bay. Peterson will not require surgery. Childress said this is not a season-ending injury, but he did not talk about when Peterson might be back. Continue to monitor the running back's progress as the injury could be a severe blow.
11/11/2007 Pacman Jones, CB (Ten) The NFL Players Association is appealing commissioner Roger Goodell's decision not to reduce Jones' season-long suspension.

Analysis: The union wants a hearing as soon as possible. Since being suspended in April, Jones was arrested in June on two felony charges stemming from a Feb. 19 fight at a Las Vegas strip club that led to a triple shooting outside that left one man paralyzed. Jones has been arrested six times since being drafted with the sixth pick overall in April 2005.

"Luck's not really on our side right now."

Analysis: Peterson made an 11-yard catch in the third quarter when he was hit low in the middle of the field and went tumbling head over heels. The rookie writhed in pain on the field, and players immediately called over trainers. Peterson spent several minutes on the ground, and then left the field limping with the help of trainers. He ran for 45 yards and fumbled once in the Vikings' 34-0 loss to the Packers, one week after rushing for a record 296 yards against the Chargers.
11/11/2007 Brian Griese, QB (Chi) Griese left Chicago's game against the Oakland Raiders shortly before halftime Sunday with a shoulder injury.

Analysis: Griese was hurt when he was sacked late in the second quarter. Rex Grossman relieved his former backup - and promptly fumbled the first center exchange with Olin Kreutz. Griese, who became Chicago's starter in late September after Grossman's prolonged struggles, was 10-of-14 for 97 yards against the Raiders. The Bears didn't immediately announce whether Griese would return. Griese, a 10-year NFL veteran, has thrown nine touchdown passes and 10 interceptions this season.

Two plays later, he hit favorite target Donald Driver for a 19-yard gain. 11/11/2007 Trent Edwards, QB (Buf) Edwards is active for Sunday's game in Miami, but J.P. Losman will get the start.

Analysis: Edwards appears to have lost the starting gig to Losman, Buffalo's Week 1 starter. He doesn't have any fantasy value if Losman remains healthy.
11/11/2007 Selvin Young, RB (Den) Young will start Sunday against Kansas City because Travis Henry is inactive with a knee injury.

Analysis: He's a viable fantasy option this week as he'll see most of the opportunities out of the backfield. Monitor Henry's status in the upcoming weeks to see if Young can emerge as a full-time option.
11/11/2007 Travis Henry, RB (Den) Henry is inactive for Sunday's game against Kansas City because of a left knee injury.

Analysis: Rookie running back Selvin Young will get the start.
11/11/2007 Alge Crumpler, TE (Atl) Crumpler will start Sunday against Carolina.

Analysis: Crumpler has missed the last two games with knee and ankle injuries. Despite missing time, he still ranks third on the team with 19 catches and 203 yards.
11/11/2007 Albert Haynesworth, DT (Ten) According to ESPN, Haynesworth will not play Sunday because of a right hamstring injury that forced him to miss multiple practices this week.

Analysis: This will certainly hurt the Titans defense, as Haynesworth is considered a possible candidate for NFL defensive MVP in some circles.
11/11/2007 Derrick Ward, RB (NYG) According to ESPN, Ward will not play Sunday against the Cowboys.

Analysis: Ward has been bothered by ankle and groin injuries. He has not played since Oct. 21 versus San Francisco.
11/11/2007 Plaxico Burress, WR (NYG) According to ESPN, Burress will play Sunday against the Cowboys.

Analysis: Burress didn't practice Friday because of his nagging ankle injury, but appears ready to go. Burress leads the Giants with 37 receptions and eight touchdowns this season.
11/10/2007 Troy Williamson, WR (Min) Vikings coach Brad Childress announced Saturday that Williamson will get his last paycheck after a weekly meeting with veteran players on his leadership committee.

Analysis: The Vikings withheld Williamson's check after he missed the game against San Diego last week to remain in South Carolina following the death of his grandmother. Williamson, the seventh overall selection in the 2005 draft, has produced little for Minnesota in 2 1/2 seasons.
11/10/2007 David Carr, QB (Car) Carr has been ruled out for Sunday's game because of a concussion.

Analysis: Carr is one of several players in the Panthers' depleted quarterback corps. Jake Delhomme is out for the season with an albow injury, and 44-year-old Vinny Testaverde is questionable with a sore right Achillies tendon. Undrafted rookie Matt Moore could start Sunday if Testaverde cannot play.
11/10/2007 Vinny Testaverde, QB (Car) Testaverde, who turns 44 on Tuesday, practiced early in the week before sitting out Friday's workout when pain returned to his Achilles' tendon. He's listed as questionable.

Analysis: Matt Moore, an undrafted rookie, will start if Testaverde can't go. David Carr (concussion) has been ruled out of the game and Jake Delhomme (elbow) is out for the season.
11/10/2007 Billy Latsko, RB (Car) Desperate for help at quarterback because of injuries, the Panthers waived Latsko on Saturday to make room for QB Drew Olson.

Analysis: Latsko, an undrafted free agent out of Florida, was promoted from the practice squad Tuesday, but didn't get a chance to make his NFL debut.
11/10/2007 Drew Olson, QB (Car) Concerned over the status of Vinny Testaverde, the Panthers promoted Olson to the 53-man roster to possibly serve as the backup in Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Analysis: If Testaverde, who has a sore right Achilles tendon, can't play against the Falcons, undrafted rookie Matt Moore would start. With David Carr (concussion) ruled out of the game and Jake Delhomme (elbow) out for the season, Olson would be the Panthers' only option after Moore. Olson was signed to the practice squad Tuesday and has never played in an NFL game. The former UCLA quarterback spent last season on Baltimore's practice squad.
11/10/2007 Stephen Nicholas, LB (Atl) Nicholas is expected to play Sunday's game at Carolina.

Analysis: Nicholas has missed the last three games with an ankle injury. He has 15 tackles and one fumble recovery in five games as a rookie.
11/10/2007 Alge Crumpler, TE (Atl) Crumpler is expected to play Sunday's game at Carolina.

Analysis: Crumpler has missed the last two games with knee and ankle injuries. Despite missing time, he still ranks third on the team with 19 catches and 203 yards.
11/10/2007 Jerious Norwood, RB (Atl) Norwood is questionable for Sunday's game at Carolina with a sprained ankle.

Analysis: Norwood, the Falcons' second-leading rusher, has 311 yards on 53 carries. Warrick Dunn will continue to see the majority of the opportunities in Atlanta on Sunday.
11/10/2007 Joe Horn, WR (Atl) Horn is questionable for Sunday's game at Carolina because of an ailing hamstring.

Analysis: The 35-year-old Horn was added to the team's injury report Saturday. He had practiced throughout the week without any signs of a problem. Horn hasn't made much of an impact in his first season with the Falcons. Working from a backup role, he ranks fourth on the team with 18 receptions for 165 yards with no touchdowns.
11/9/2007 Shaun Alexander, RB (Sea) Alexander was nowhere in sight for the third consecutive day Friday. He twisted his left knee and ankle during last weekend's loss at Cleveland. The lead running back, who has played the last seven games with a cast on his broken left wrist, was in the weight room running again on a treadmill. He will try to test the leg during practice Saturday. If that test fails, Maurice Morris will start.

Analysis: If Alexander is unable to play Monday night, Maurice Morris would start in his place. Coach Mike Holmgren had said earlier this week that Alexander, whose 492 yards rushing is his lowest total through eight games since he became Seattle's starter in 2001, could conceivably play Monday without practicing. But Friday, Holmgren said he needs to see that Alexander can run in practice without pain.
11/9/2007 Deion Branch, WR (Sea) Branch may return from a foot injury in time to play Monday night against San Francisco.

Analysis: Branch, Seattle's leading receiver, returned to the field Friday wearing a helmet and practice uniform for the first time since spraining his right foot early in the loss at Pittsburgh on Oct. 7. The former Super Bowl MVP ran on the side without apparent pain or hindrance while the rest of the Seahawks practiced. He will get a more extensive test in practice on Saturday, when coach Mike Holmgren will determine if Branch can play for the first time in four games.
11/9/2007 Quentin Jammer, CB (SD) Jammer will miss Sunday night's home game against the Indianapolis Colts because of a hamstring injury. Jammer injured his hamstring against Houston on Oct. 28 and aggravated it last Sunday against the Vikings. The team listed him as doubtful on Friday's injury report, but the cornerback said he won't be in uniform.

Analysis: Antonio Cromartie will make his first pro start in place of Jammer. Cromartie has scored three touchdowns in the past two games, including setting an NFL record by returning a missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown in a 35-17 loss at Minnesota last Sunday. In a 35-10 win against Houston two weeks ago, he scored on a 70-yard interception return and when he recovered an errant punt snap in the end zone.
11/9/2007 Michael Vick, QB (Atl) Vick has fired one of the attorneys representing him in his dogfighting case.

Analysis: Daniel R. Meachum of Atlanta will no longer represent Vick, the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback who pleaded guilty to a federal dogfighting conspiracy charge. Court documents show Vick sent a letter Oct. 26 cutting ties with Meachum. Vick's defense team includes Virginia Beach lawyers Larry Woodward and Thomas Shuttleworth, and Washington, D.C., attorney Billy Martin.
11/9/2007 Ryan Tucker, T (Cle) Tucker, who hasn't played guard since the late '90s with the Rams, most likely will start in place of injured guard Seth McKinney on Sunday.
11/9/2007 Seth McKinney, C (Cle) McKinney will not play against Pittsburgh on Sunday because of a shoulder injury.

Analysis: McKinney did not practice all week because of a shoulder injury from last Sunday's win over Seattle. It will be the first shake-up on a line that has led the way for Cleveland's surprising turnaround on offense. Ryan Tucker, who hasn't played guard since the late '90s with the Rams, most likely will start in McKinney's place Sunday.
11/9/2007 Eric Steinbach, G (Cle) Steinbach was listed as questionable Friday for Cleveland's game against Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Analysis: The Browns will be without guard Seth McKinney, and perhaps Steinbach as well. It's the first shake-up on a line that has led the way for Cleveland's surprising turnaround on offense. Lennie Friedman would start if Steinbach is unavailable, and both Isaac Sowells and Nat Dorsey could see playing time.
11/9/2007 Madison Hedgecock, RB (NYG) The Giants announced Friday that they had extended Hedgecock's contract through the 2012 season.

Analysis: In eight games this season, the third-year pro has five catches for 38 yards.
11/9/2007 Derrick Ward, RB (NYG) Ward did not practice Friday and was listed as doubtful for Sunday's game with ankle and groin injuries.
11/9/2007 Plaxico Burress, WR (NYG) Burress did not practice Friday and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Analysis: Burress has not taken part in practice for most of the season while he contends with a nagging right ankle injury he sustained in training camp. He made a rare appearance on Wednesday but did not practice on Thursday. "After any time he works he might be sore, but I don't think it will be an issue," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Friday. Despite the injury, Burress leads the Giants with 37 receptions and eight touchdowns this season.
11/9/2007 Tarvaris Jackson, QB (Min) Jackson, who was knocked out last week with a concussion, is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Green Bay.

Analysis: Coach Brad Childress said Friday he will wait until Sunday's pregame warmups to reveal his starter.
11/9/2007 Simeon Rice, DE (Ind) The Broncos released Rice before the end of practice Friday.

Analysis: The 33-year-old Rice signed a one-year, $3 million contract on Sept. 3. He chose Denver over St. Louis in part because of the opportunity to get more playing time after starter Ebenezer Ekuban sustained a season-ending Achilles' injury in training camp. Rice, a 12-year veteran, has 121 career sacks, second only to Michael Strahan among active players. He failed a physical in Tampa Bay but has since passed all his medical tests.
11/9/2007 Marvin Harrison, WR (Ind) Harrison, who has missed three games with a bruised left knee, participated in limited work for the third straight day on Friday.

Analysis: The perennial Pro Bowl receiver is listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
11/9/2007 Anthony Gonzalez, WR (Ind) Gonzalez has been ruled out for Sunday's game against San Diego because of a dislocated left thumb.
11/9/2007 Dallas Clark, TE (Ind) Clark did some work in practice Friday after missing the two previous days with a concussion.

Analysis: Clark is second on the team with 34 catches for 403 yards. He is listed as questionable for Sunday.
11/9/2007 Marlin Jackson, CB (Ind) Jackson returned to practice with the Indianapolis Colts on Friday after sitting out the two previous days with injuries.

Analysis: Jackson was out with a foot injury and is listed as questionable. Coach Tony Dungy said Thursday that Jackson had received three different diagnoses on the foot this week, the first indicating he was likely to miss 1 1/2 seasons. But as the week progressed, Jackson said he felt better and explained Friday that he expected to play Sunday against San Diego.
11/9/2007 Raheem Brock, DT (Ind) Brock returned to practice with the Indianapolis Colts on Friday after sitting out the two previous days with injuries.

Analysis: Brock hurt his neck and is listed as questionable.
11/9/2007 Antwaan Randle El, WR (Was) Randle El and fellow receiver Santana Moss were unable to practice again Friday, putting the Redskins in a perilous position at receiver for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Analysis: Randle El has had a relapse of a nagging hamstring injury. He is listed as probable, but the injury likely will have an effect on his speed and agility if he plays. He suffered the injury in Washington's Oct. 7 against Detroit and has since caught only nine passes for 141 yards.
11/9/2007 Santana Moss, WR (Was) Moss and fellow receiver Antwaan Randle El were unable to practice again Friday, putting the Redskins in a perilous position at receiver for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Analysis: Moss is sidelined with a bruised heel and is listed as questionable on the injury report, but neither Moss nor coach Joe Gibbs sounded optimistic that it would heal sufficiently before game time. "Same that it felt all week. Sore. Hurts. Painful," Moss said. "I couldn't tell you yes or no right now. It's one of those things where I'll just have to see how it feels on Sunday."
11/9/2007 Chris Henry, RB (Ten) Henry, who has appealed his four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, has up to 20 days to have the appeal heard and is expected to be available Sunday against the Jaguars.

Analysis: Henry could get some opportunities in the backfield with LenDale White and Chris Brown nursing nagging injuries. But White had full participation in practice Friday, which could limit Henry's chances. Henry can drop the appeal at any time and begin serving the punishment.
11/9/2007 Chris Brown, RB (Ten) Brown, nursing a high left ankle sprain, got limited work early in practice Friday.

Analysis: Brown has not played the past three games, paving the way for LenDale White to get the majority of the opportunities. As a result, White has emerged as the Titans' No. 1 running back. Even if Brown gets healthy soon, don't expect him to get much action.
11/9/2007 LenDale White, RB (Ten) White had full participation in practice Friday after being limited Thursday with a toe injury.

Analysis: White has broken out with the first three 100-yard rushing games of his career over the last three weeks. Though no official decision has been made, it seems he'll be ready to try for his fourth on Sunday.
11/9/2007 Albert Haynesworth, DT (Ten) Haynesworth missed practice Friday for a third consecutive day with a right hamstring injury and will be a game-time decision Sunday against the Jaguars.

Analysis: Haynesworth hasn't practiced all week after injuring his hamstring with about three minutes left against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, when he had a career-high three sacks. Haynesworth hasn't injured a hamstring before, but hopes to play Sunday, even if he isn't in for as many snaps as usual. "We still haven't ruled him out," coach Jeff Fisher said. "He can play without practicing. The decision will be based on how he is before game time."
11/9/2007 John DiGiorgio, LB (Buf) DiGiorgio is questionable for Sunday's game at Miami after being limited in practice the past two days because of a head injury.

Analysis: DiGiorgio has had a breakout second season in the NFL, tying for second on the team with 55 tackles in eight games - only six starts. He didn't record a single tackle in 12 games as a rookie last season, mostly on special teams.
11/9/2007 Trent Edwards, QB (Buf) Edwards is questionable after practicing all week on a limited basis. He injured his right wrist in Buffalo's win over the New York Jets two weeks ago.

Analysis: Edwards has completed 80 of 121 passes for 790 yards in five games - four starts - this season, but has just one touchdown and five interceptions. J.P. Losman will start this week's game.
11/9/2007 Matt Murphy, TE (Buf) Murphy has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins with a calf injury, further depleting the Bills at tight end.

Analysis: The Bills placed rookie tight end Derek Schouman on injured reserve Thursday, ending his season. Robert Royal, Michael Gaines and Ryan Neufeld are the other tight ends on the roster. Murphy hadn't caught a pass in two games this season.
11/9/2007 Aaron Schobel, DE (Buf) Schobel missed practice Friday and is questionable for Buffalo's game at Miami on Sunday.

Analysis: Schobel missed Thursday's practice because of a groin/thigh injury, but was sent home on Friday after becoming ill. It's been a disappointing season for Schobel, who has only 2.5 sacks through eight games after ranking third in the NFL with 14.0 sacks last season. He has played in 104 consecutive games since he was drafted out of TCU in 2001. Sunday's game would be his 100th straight start.
11/9/2007 Josh Reed, WR (Buf) Reed missed practice Friday and is questionable for Buffalo's game at Miami on Sunday.

Analysis: Reed missed his first practice of the week after developing stiffness in his back. He's second on the team with 26 catches and 283 receiving yards.
11/9/2007 JaMarcus Russell, QB (Oak) Josh McCown will start Oakland's game against Chicago on Sunday, but Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said there's a chance Russell would be the second quarterback, allowing him to use the rookie for a few drives early in the game if he chooses.

Analysis: Russell, the first overall pick in last April's draft, hasn't played a single down in the NFL after a lengthy holdout that extended into the regular season. Russell went 25-4 as LSU's starting quarterback, finishing his career with the Tigers by throwing the second most touchdown passes (52) and having the second highest completion percentage (61.9 percent) in school history. In September, he signed a record rookie contract that guarantees him at least $29 million.
11/9/2007 Anthony Oakley, G (Chi) Oakley was promoted from the Bears practice squad to fill the roster spot of injured guard Ruben Brown.
11/9/2007 Nathan Vasher, CB (Chi) Bears coach Lovie Smith said that Vasher, who hasn't played since Sept. 23 and who missed practice again Thursday, was unlikely to play in Sunday's game in Oakland.

Analysis: Vasher said he still has not run full speed or backpedaled in rehab from a partially torn groin muscle. "When you're dealing with a muscle, it's hard to know exactly when you'll get over the hump completely," Smith said.
11/9/2007 Terrence Metcalf, G (Chi) Metcalf will take injured lineman Ruben Brown's place in the starting lineup Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

Analysis: Metcalf is a 6-foot-4, 318-pound, six-year veteran from Mississippi who has started 20 games. "I've been here for six years and we've been in this offense for three years now," Metcalf said. "I know the offense. I'm just going out and do the job that they hired me to do." Only five of Metcalf's 20 starts came at left guard.
11/9/2007 Ruben Brown, G (Chi) Brown, a nine-time Pro Bowl left guard, will miss the rest of the season because of a right shoulder injury that will require surgery.

Analysis: The 13-year veteran started every game during the Bears' 2006 run to the Super Bowl, after missing three games in 2005 with a chest injury and seven games in 2004 because of neck and knee injuries. The team placed Brown on injured reserve Thursday after he missed Wednesday's practice. Terrence Metcalf will take Brown's place in the starting lineup Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
11/9/2007 Adam Snyder, G (SF) Snyder will remain the starting left tackle in place of Jonas Jennings, who went on injured reserve on Monday because of an ankle injury.
11/9/2007 Jonas Jennings, T (SF) Jennings went on injured reserve on Monday with an ankle injury.

Analysis: Jennings, San Francisco's starting left tackle before he suffered the injury, will be replaced in the starting lineup by Adam Snyder.
11/9/2007 David Baas, G (SF) Baas will replace injured right guard Justin Smiley in the starting lineup on Monday, when the 49ers visit Seattle.

Analysis: Baas hasn't started a game since his rookie season in 2005, but has appeared in 23 of the Niners' 24 games since the start of the 2006 season.
11/9/2007 Patrick Estes, T (SF) The 49ers replaced injured right guard Justin Smiley on the 53-man roster by re-signing Estes, a seventh-round pick in 2005 who has been cut and re-signed twice this season.

Analysis: Estes will back up starting right guard David Baas on Monday, when the 49ers visit Seattle.
11/9/2007 Justin Smiley, G (SF) The 49ers put Smiley on injured reserve Thursday, one day after the starting lineman decided to undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder.

Analysis: Smiley, who has started every game for the 49ers over the past 2 1/2 years, was hurt while diving to recover a fumble in Sunday's loss at Atlanta. Smiley tore his labrum and severely dislocated his shoulder.
11/9/2007 Derrick Pope, LB (Mia) Pope will start at outside linebacker on Sunday because Zach Thomas will sit with recurring migraines.

Analysis: The game will be Pope's fourth start of the season - a new career high for the fourth-year linebacker. Pope has 14 tackles, one pass defended and one fumble recovery in three starts, but just one tackle in five games coming off the bench.
11/9/2007 Channing Crowder, LB (Mia) Crowder will again start at middle linebacker on Sunday because Zach Thomas will sit because of recurring migraines.

Analysis: Crowder is second on the team with 39 tackles. Thomas leads all Dolphins with 52 in just five games.
11/9/2007 Zach Thomas, LB (Mia) Thomas will sit out Sunday's game against Buffalo because of recurring migraines.

Analysis: It will be the fourth game Thomas has missed this season, including two in September because of a concussion. He participated in full-contact drills Thursday but was held out of practice Friday and ruled out for the game. Thomas, a seven-time Pro Bowler, hasn't played since he suffered whiplash in a car accident driving home from the Dolphins' loss to New England on Oct. 21. Sunday's game will be only the 17th he has missed in his 12-year career.
11/8/2007 Seth McKinney, C (Cle) McKinney missed practice Thursday and their status is uncertain for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.

Analysis: McKinney missed his second straight practice with a shoulder injury he suffered during Sunday's win over Seattle. Ryan Tucker, who hasn't played guard since the late '90s with the Rams, will play if McKinney is unavailable against the Steelers. The Browns' offensive line has not had a starting lineup change all season and has given up just seven sacks over the last seven games.
11/8/2007 Eric Steinbach, G (Cle) Steinbach missed practice Thursday and his status is uncertain for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh.

Analysis: Steinbach, a free-agent acquisition who helped solidify Cleveland's line, strained his back during practice Wednesday and is day to day. If he can't play, then veteran backup Lennie Friedman would likely start. The Browns' offensive line has not had a starting lineup change all season and has given up just seven sacks over the last seven games.
11/8/2007 Ahmard Hall, RB (Ten) Hall (broken forearm) is ruled out of the Titans' game against Jacksonville on Sunday.

Analysis: Hall broke his arm on Oct. 21 at Houston and hasn't played since. The fullback has no fantasy value when he is healthy.
11/8/2007 Ryan Fowler, LB (Ten) Fowler (left shin) returned to Titans' practice Thursday.

Analysis: Fowler appears to be prepared to play Sunday against Jacksonville. He doesn't have any fantasy value, despite starting all eight games for the Titans.
11/8/2007 Travis LaBoy, DE (Ten) LaBoy (concussion) took part at the start of practice for the Titans on Thursday.

Analysis: LaBoy has been solid this season, despite not starting a game. He has five sacks, one interception, two passes defensed, two forced fumbled and one recovery. If the injury is not considered serious, then he should continue performing. He may not be a fantasy starter, but he does contribute.
11/8/2007 LenDale White, RB (Ten) White (toe) was limited at Titans' practice on Thursday.

Analysis: Monitor White's progress with the injury as it could be a problem. He has emerged as the Titans' No. 1 running back and has reached the 100-yard mark in each of the last three games, while adding two touchdowns.
11/8/2007 Chris Brown, RB (Ten) Brown (left ankle) was limited at Titans' practice on Thursday.

Analysis: Brown has played in five games this season. He has 57 carries for 300 yards. The injury appears to be a problem, which could severely hurt his fantasy value.
11/8/2007 Brian Young, DT (NO) According to the Times-Picayune, Young will not play Sunday after arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up some meniscus in his knee.

Analysis: Young could be out for several weeks because of the procedure for the nagging injury.
11/8/2007 Benji Olson, G (Ten) Olson missed a second straight practice for the Titans. He usually has Wednesdays off, but his back tightened and kept him out Thursday.

Analysis: Olsen has only missed one game in the last three seasons and is one of the more reliable linemen for the Titans. If the injury is a problem and he can't play Sunday against Jacksonville, then rookie Leroy Harris could make his NFL debut.
11/8/2007 Reggie Bush, RB (NO) According to the Times-Picayune, Bush practice Thursday on a limited basis and he is focused on playing Sunday versus St. Louis.

Analysis: Bush suffered a bone bruise last Sunday and he said the team is taking precautionary measures with the situation.
11/8/2007 Albert Haynesworth, DT (Ten) Haynesworth sat out a second straight practice Thursday, and Titans coach Jeff Fisher said they want to be careful to avoid further injury with his sore hamstring.

Analysis: The six-year veteran is coming off perhaps his best game as a pro. He had a career-high three sacks and led the Titans in tackles in last week's 20-7 win over Carolina. Continue to monitor Haynesworth's progress.
11/8/2007 Ruben Brown, G (Chi) According to the Chicago Tribune, Brown will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

Analysis: The 9-time Pro Bowler has started all 45 games he has been with the Bears. Terrence Metcalf will start in his place on an offensive line that is a main reason the Bears are among the worst rushing teams in the league.
11/8/2007 Larry Johnson, RB (KC) Johnson's injured right foot "has made significant improvement," the Chiefs said Thursday.

Analysis: Johnson, who rushed for more than 1,750 yards each of the past two years, was injured in the fourth quarter last week of Kansas City's 33-22 loss to Green Bay. Coaches have said he would almost certainly not play this Sunday against Denver. Johnson's status appears to be changing, so keep monitoring the developments.
11/8/2007 Victor Adeyanju, DE (StL) According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Victor Adeyanju will start in place of Leonard Little, who is out for the season with a toe injury.

Analysis: Adeyanju started nine games as a rookie before breaking his right arm.
11/8/2007 Lito Sheppard, CB (Phi) According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Sheppard said he expects to play Sunday at Washington despite tweaking his left MCL last week against Dallas.

Analysis: Though Sheppard expects to play, he told the paper that his knee is not at the level from last year when he made the Pro Bowl.
11/8/2007 Mike Williams, WR (Oak) According to the Tampa Tribune, the Buccaneers have expressed interest in the underachieving receiver, who was waived by the Raiders last week.

Analysis: Williams worked out for Tennessee on Tuesday and is likely to hook up with some team. He had seven catches for 90 yards this season for Oakland.
11/8/2007 Zach Thomas, LB (Mia) Thomas may be back in the Dolphins' lineup this week.

Analysis: Thomas returned to full contact at practice Thursday. He has been bothered by the lingering effects of a concussion and subsequent car accident. Thomas said he expects to play Sunday against Buffalo, but awaits medical clearance. Continue to monitor Thomas' status since his return would be helpful to the Dolphins' defense.
11/8/2007 Roscoe Parrish, WR (Buf) Parrish missed his second straight practice Thursday after bruising his thigh last weekend.

Analysis: Bills coach Dick Jauron has not ruled out Parrish, saying he has made progress. Continue to monitor the developments, but Parrish has little fantasy value.
11/8/2007 Aaron Schobel, DE (Buf) Schobel (groin) was added to the Bills' injury report after he was limited in practice Thursday, but coach Dick Jauron said he expects him to play.

Analysis: Schobel has 2.5 sacks, 18 tackles, three passes defensed and three forced fumbled in eight games. He could improve on those numbers in the second half. If he does, he could be a solid fantasy option.
11/8/2007 Vinny Testaverde, QB (Car) Testaverde is the leading candidate to start at quarterback for the Carolina Panthers after he practiced for a second straight day Thursday.

Analysis: Testaverde, who turns 44 next week, and undrafted rookie Matt Moore took all the snaps as David Carr missed his second straight practice with a concussion. Coach John Fox held off selecting a starter for Sunday's game against Atlanta, but said Testaverde has looked good after he was sidelined with a right Achilles' tendon injury last week.
11/8/2007 Aaron Walker, TE (StL) Walker, who sprained a shoulder in practice on Monday, was ruled out for Sunday.

Analysis: Walker is a backup tight end for the Rams who has little fantasy value.
11/8/2007 Matt Murphy, TE (Buf) Murphy hurt his left calf in practice for the Bills on Thursday and could miss Sunday's game against Miami.

Analysis: Murphy's injury is a blow to the Bills, but the tight end has no fantasy value. He has three catches for 34 yards in 28 career games in six seasons.
11/8/2007 Derek Schouman, TE (Buf) Schouman's season ended Thursday when he became the 10th player placed on Buffalo's injured reserve list.

Analysis: Coach Dick Jauron said tests revealed Schouman is expected to miss up to seven weeks after a serious high right ankle sprain in a 33-21 win over Cincinnati last weekend. The first of Buffalo's two seventh-round draft picks, Schouman had been a solid blocker in three games since being promoted from the practice squad. He also had three catches for 10 yards and is not a fantasy option.
11/7/2007 Justin Smiley, G (SF) Smiley, the San Francisco 49ers' starting right guard, will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery after dislocating the joint during his club's loss at Atlanta last weekend.

Analysis: Smiley, who has started every game on the 49ers' line for the last 2 1/2 seasons, is the second San Francisco lineman whose season ended in the last three days. Left tackle Jonas Jennings was placed on injured reserve Monday because of an ankle injury. David Baas, the 33rd overall pick in the 2005 draft, is expected to replace Smiley in the 49ers' starting lineup.
11/7/2007 Reggie Bush, RB (NO) Bush sat out practice Wednesday with a wrap on his left knee, which he said he bruised late in the Saints' 41-24 victory over Jacksonville on Saturday.

Analysis: Bush participated in "walkthrough" portions of practice and said he fully expects to play on Sunday when New Orleans hosts the St. Louis Rams.
11/7/2007 Chris Henry, RB (Ten) Henry appealed his four-game suspension Wednesday for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, keeping him available for the Titans with LenDale White and Chris Brown both injured.

Analysis: White sat out practice with what he called a sore toe, but Brown practiced in his first full session since spraining his left ankle in the second quarter of a 13-10 loss Oct. 14 at Tampa Bay. Henry has played as White's backup with Brown out.
11/7/2007 Skyler Green, WR (Cin) Green, waived by the Bengals on Monday, was added to the practice squad on Wednesday.

Analysis: Green has no fantasy value. He played seven games and caught three passes for 33 yards.
11/7/2007 Tank Johnson, DT (Dal) His half-season suspension over, Johnson is preparing for both his Dallas debut and his first game since the Super Bowl, when he started on the defensive line for the Chicago Bears. He's been practicing for a few weeks, but things are different now that he knows he'll be playing Sunday against the New York Giants.

Analysis: Coach Wade Phillips said Johnson will play mostly on first and second downs, getting in for about one-third of the game in place of starting nose tackle Jay Ratliff.
11/7/2007 Nate Lawrie, TE (Cin) The Bengals promoted Lawrie from the practice squad Wednesday after placing Ahmad Brooks on injured reserve with a torn groin muscle.

Analysis: Lawrie played in all four preseason games for Cincinnati and in the season opener. The tight end has only two catches for 32 yards in 16 NFL games over four seasons. He has no fantasy value.
11/7/2007 Raymond Ventrone, S (NE) The Patriots released Ventrone on Wednesday after activating Chad Jackson and Eddie Jackson from the PUP list.

Analysis: Ventrone has been on and off the Patriots and New York Jets since April 2005. He was signed to New England's active roster last Saturday and made his NFL debut on Sunday in a 24-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He'll likely get another chance in the NFL, but he has no fantasy value.
11/7/2007 Eddie Jackson, CB (NE) The Patriots activated Jackson from the PUP list on Wednesday.

Analysis: Jackson was signed as a free agent in March after spending the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers in 2004.
11/7/2007 Chad Jackson, WR (NE) The Patriots activated Jackson from the PUP list Wednesday.

Analysis: Jackson was the team's second-round pick in the 2006 draft out of Florida and had 13 receptions for 152 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie last season. He also had four rushes for 22 yards, three punt returns for 76 yards and a 21-yard kickoff return. He doesn't have much fantasy value, but monitor his playing time to see if that changes.
11/7/2007 David Garrard, QB (Jac) Garrard practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday and could return against Tennessee.

Analysis: Garrard ran without pain last week, but the real test was getting through his first practice since suffering a high ankle sprain Oct. 22 against Indianapolis. The Jaguars started the season 4-1 thanks mostly to Garrard. He injured his left ankle early against the Colts and sat out the last two games. Quinn Gray started in his place. Coach Jack Del Rio said Garrard needs to move well to have a chance to play Sunday against the Titans. Monitor the developments.
11/7/2007 Abraham Wright, LB (Mia) Wright was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

Analysis: Wright, a seventh-round draft pick out of Colorado, had no fantasy value when he was healthy. He did not appear in a game for the Dolphins, so the injury could be a serious blow to his career.
11/7/2007 Plaxico Burress, WR (NYG) Burress practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, less than an hour after coach Tom Coughlin said a persistent ankle injury would prevent him from working out.

Analysis: With a week off because of the bye, Burress felt that Wednesday would be a good day to get some work with quarterback Eli Manning prior to Sunday's showdown with the Dallas Cowboys (7-1). ¶ Burress spent the bye week undergoing rehabilitation for his ankle.
11/7/2007 Kurt Warner, QB (Ari) Warner is having a hard time shaking off his disgust about his Arizona Cardinals' punchless effort at Tampa Bay last week.

Analysis: The Cardinals lost 17-10 to drop to 3-5 going into Sunday's home game against the Detroit Lions. "It's something that bothered me the day of the game, the night of the game, the last couple of nights," Warner said. "I'm trying to let it go now so we can get on to the next one."
11/7/2007 Chris Henry, WR (Cin) Henry allegedly was involved in an altercation with a parking attendant on the eve of rejoining the Bengals from his eight-game suspension.

Analysis: On Tuesday night, police in Newport, Ky., a suburb on the other side of the Ohio River within view of Paul Brown Stadium, were called to an entertainment district following a dispute over a parking fee. A parking attendant told police that Henry and another man parked their sport utility vehicle without paying. According to an incident report, the attendant said Henry argued loudly with him and said, "Don't you know who I am?" Continue to monitor the developments.
11/7/2007 Ahmad Brooks, LB (Cin) Brooks will have surgery for a torn groin muscle, another setback for the Bengals' reeling defense.

Analysis: The Bengals placed Brooks on injured reserve Wednesday, ending his season. He played in a season-opening 27-20 victory over Baltimore, but hurt his groin in the first series against Cleveland a week later. He hasn't played since then. Middle linebacker has been a trouble spot for the Bengals since Takeo Spikes insisted he wanted out after the 2002 season, tired of the team's losing.
11/7/2007 Richie Incognito, G (StL) Incognito underwent surgery on his right kneecap on Tuesday, a procedure that the team had projected would knock him out the rest of the year.

Analysis: The it may seem like a long shot, the Rams are holding off placing him on injured reserve in case he's able to recover in the next month.
11/7/2007 Dante Hall, WR (StL) Hall (high ankle sprain) was given a shot by coach Scott Linehan to return on Sunday.

Analysis: Hall, who has missed three games, was at full participation in practice Wednesday.
11/7/2007 Steven Jackson, RB (StL) Jackson returned to full duty in practice on Wednesday after recovering from a bulging disc that knocked him out of the Rams' last game before their bye week. Jackson had led the winless Rams to an early 14-0 lead against the Browns, running in the words of teammate Randy McMichael like a "wild beast," before the back locked up.

Analysis: The Rams believe the injury can be managed the rest of the year by limiting Jackson's carries or giving him occasional rest. He's second on the team in rushing with only 274 yards, 2 fewer than rookie Brian Leonard, with 10 catches for 66 yards.
11/7/2007 Donovan McNabb, QB (Phi) The five-time Pro Bowl quarterback feels it's unfair to blame him for the Philadelphia Eagles' 3-5 start.

Analysis: "I'm definitely not the whole reason why we lost these games," McNabb said. "Can I help? Yes, I can. But I'm not fully to blame for everything that goes on around here. I can help, but I'm not that main solution." Asked if McNabb would remain the starter for the rest of the season, barring injury, coach Andy Reid said: "That's where I'm looking at things. Again, nothing is guaranteed."
11/7/2007 Roderick Green, LB (SF) The 49ers re-signed Green on Wednesday, bringing back a solid pass rusher who was cut in training camp.

Analysis: Green had been out of football since failing to make the 49ers' roster in final cuts. The fourth-year pro was claimed off waivers from Baltimore last year, and had 4 1/2 sacks in nine games with San Francisco.
11/7/2007 Vinny Testaverde, QB (Car) Testaverde was back on the field Wednesday, leaving the soon-to-be 44-year-old quarterback the latest front-runner to start for the Carolina Panthers.

Analysis: Testaverde, who has not played since injuring his right Achilles' tendon in the loss to Indianapolis on Oct. 28, practiced without limitations, splitting time with undrafted rookie Matt Moore. He could start Sunday versus Atlanta if David Carr is unable to go because of a concussion.
11/7/2007 David Carr, QB (Car) Carr sat out practice with a concussion on Wednesday.

Analysis: If he can't play, 44-year-old Vinny Testaverde will get the start Sunday. Carr watched practice from the sideline, yet to be cleared from his concussion sustained late in Sunday's loss at Tennessee after a hit from defensive tackle Tony Brown. Carr was also sidelined last month with a back injury that forced the team to sign Testaverde, who turns 44 next week.
11/7/2007 Jonathan Babineaux, DT (Atl) Babineaux expressed relief Wednesday after he was cleared of a felony animal cruelty charge that could have sent the Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle to prison.

Analysis: Pat McDonough, Babineaux's attorney, said it proved Babineaux acted only in self-defense against the aggressive dog that belonged to the player's girlfriend. McDonough said Babineaux was protecting himself and his 5-month-old child.
11/7/2007 Sean Considine, S (Phi) Considine will miss the rest of the season after hurting his left shoulder in the Eagles' loss to Dallas on Sunday night.

Analysis: Quintin Mikell will replace Considine in the starting lineup against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Mikell started five games at free safety when Brian Dawkins was sidelined. Considine had 47 tackles and one interception. A fourth-round pick in 2005, he replaced former Pro Bowl selection Michael Lewis after Lewis struggled early last year. Considine also injured the same shoulder his rookie season and finished that year on injured reserve.
11/7/2007 Michael Vick, QB (Atl) A prosecutor who was criticized for his handling of the Vick dogfighting investigation defeated a write-in challenger to keep his job, an election official said Wednesday.

Analysis: In July, Vick and three co-defendants were indicted on federal dogfighting conspiracy charges. The four entered guilty pleas and are scheduled to be sentenced by the end of the year. They all face possible prison terms.
11/6/2007 Demetrin Veal, DT (Ten) The Titans added some depth at defensive tackle Tuesday by signing Demetrin Veal.

Analysis: The Titans had only Albert Haynesworth, Tony Brown and Randy Starks at defensive tackle after veteran Corey Simon decided to retire Oct. 25. The 6-foot-2, 288-pound Veal has played in 34 NFL games over four seasons with 76 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks, a fumble recovery and a safety. He spent the past two seasons in Denver and played in all 16 games with the Broncos in 2006.
11/6/2007 Chris Naeole, G (Jac) The Jaguars placed guard Chris Naeole (quadriceps) on injured reserve and re-signed guard Tutan Reyes and linebackers Jorge Cordova and Roy Manning.

Analysis: Naeole's absence could be a blow to the Jaguars' offensive line. The veteran guard has only allowed two sacks in eight games this season.
11/6/2007 Justin Durant, LB (Jac) Durant was placed on the Jaguars' reserve/suspended list on Tuesday.

Analysis: Durant was arrested early Saturday after deputies found him asleep behind the wheel near an exit ramp. He was cited for resisting arrest without violence and having an open alcohol container. He passed a field sobriety test.
11/6/2007 Drew Olson, QB (Car) The Panthers signed Olson on Tuesday to provide depth at quarterback behind David Carr and Vinny Testaverde, who are both banged up.

Analysis: Olson, who played at UCLA, went undrafted in 2006 and spent last season on Baltimore's practice squad. He played for Amsterdam in NFL Europa last summer, then was cut by the Ravens on Aug. 28. The Panthers might need Olson just to practice Wednesday. Carr suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to Tennessee and his status this week is uncertain. Vinny Testaverde sat out Sunday's game with a right Achilles' tendon injury.
11/6/2007 Billy Latsko, RB (Car) The Panthers promoted Latsko from the practice squad Tuesday to take Dan Morgan's place after he was placed on injured reserve with a partially torn right Achilles' tendon.

Analysis: The running back is an undrafted rookie that has yet to make his NFL debut. He is likely to see playing time on special teams and provide depth in the backfield.
11/6/2007 Ronyell Whitaker, CB (Min) Whitaker was released by the Vikings on Tuesday after they signed quarterback Koy Detmer.

Analysis: Whitaker served a limited role on the Vikings in five games this season and has no fantasy impact.
11/6/2007 Koy Detmer, QB (Min) The Vikings signed Detmer on Tuesday to serve as an insurance policy for a banged-up group of quarterbacks.

Analysis: Detmer is in his 10th season in the league. He was on the Eagles roster for all seven of Childress' years in Philadelphia. Childress worked with Detmer first as a quarterbacks coach and then as an offensive coordinator. Two of Minnesota's three quarterbacks are less than 100 percent, leaving Brooks Bollinger as the only healthy one. Detmer doesn't have any fantasy value.
11/6/2007 Dan Morgan, LB (Car) The Panthers placed Morgan on injured reserve Tuesday, ending another frustrating season for the oft-injured middle linebacker.

Analysis: Morgan hasn't played since he partially tore his right Achilles' tendon in Carolina's win in Atlanta on Sept. 23. Despite being in a walking boot for a couple weeks, Morgan had hoped to return this season. But it was determined Tuesday that Morgan will undergo surgery within the week. With a history of injuries, including multiple concussions, Morgan's future with the team is uncertain.
11/6/2007 J.P. Losman, QB (Buf) Leading the Bills to consecutive victories is enough for Losman to keep the starting job Sunday, when Buffalo plays at Miami.

Analysis: Coach Dick Jauron issued a statement Tuesday that he's going with Losman, in what is becoming a weekly announcement regarding the team's revolving door at quarterback. Jauron specifically noted the "outstanding job" Losman did in his past two appearances. Losman went 24-for-34 for 295 yards and a touchdown in a 33-21 win over Cincinnati on Sunday. If he can continue the strong play, he could be a solid fantasy backup.
11/6/2007 Marcus Stroud, DT (Jac) Stroud was suspended without pay by the NFL for four games on Tuesday for violating the NFL's steroids and related substances policy.

Analysis: Stroud, a three-time Pro Bowl lineman, admitted last week that he had taken supplements following offseason micro-fracture surgery on his right ankle. He said he was no longer taking the supplements, adding that he didn't plan to appeal the league's suspension. Stroud has 33 tackles, three sacks and nine quarterback pressures this season.
11/6/2007 Jonathan Vilma, LB (NYJ) Vilma will have surgery to repair his injured knee on Wednesday.

Analysis: Vilma, out for the season after being placed on injured reserve on Oct. 27, said last week that he was mulling surgery for what he described only as "a regular knee injury." He and the team have also refused to specify which knee is affected. Although Vilma's agent, Mitch Frankel, said the injury isn't career-threatening, Jets coach Eric Mangini and the linebacker have declined to give any additional details because it's the Jets' policy to not discuss injuries.
11/6/2007 Kolby Smith, RB (KC) Smith is likely to split carries with Priest Holmes for the Chiefs on Sunday against Denver after coach Herm Edwards stated that Larry Johnson is almost certain to miss the game with a foot injury.

Analysis: Smith, a fifth-round draft pick out of Louisville, has seen limited playing time as a rookie, catching two passes for 21 yards in eight games. Even with some more playing time, he doesn't have much fantasy value. That could change, though, if he can see the majority of the playing time with Johnson out.

11/6/2007 Larry Johnson, RB (KC) Johnson is almost certain to miss Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos because of a foot injury. Kansas City coach Herm Edwards said Tuesday it was "highly unlikely" the Pro Bowl player would play. Johnson hurt his right foot during the fourth quarter of last weekend's 33-22 loss to Green Bay.

Analysis: Priest Holmes is expected to move up on the depth chart and will share time with rookie Kolby Smith. The 34-year-old Holmes has made an unexpected comeback after missing almost two years because of a spinal injury. Even with Johnson, Kansas City is averaging only 79.5 yards on the ground, 30th in the league.

The quarterback limped off the field, then had his right foot, calf and hip checked by team doctors behind the team bench. He was not expected to return. He had thrown five touchdown passes in the first half, tying a team single-game record, as the Steelers took the 28-point lead.
11/5/2007 Laveranues Coles, WR (NYJ) Coles has been cleared to resume playing after he missed Sunday's game with a concussion, ending his streaks of 104 starts and 107 straight games play. He'll be back on the field Tuesday for practice.

Analysis: Johnson had to be helped off the field by two trainers and he was unable to put any weight on the foot. "They're running some more tests," coach Herm Edwards said late Monday afternoon. "(Johnson) came in to get treatment, but they took an MRI and they're still studying it. We won't know for sure until probably (Tuesday) sometime exactly what the severity is and if he's going to be out, and if so, how long."

Analysis: Jackson has started seven games this season at inside linebacker and has 54 tackles -- including 43 solo. Jackson left Cleveland's last game in the first quarter. Leon Williams or Andra Davis will start in his place Sunday.
11/3/2007 Todd Weiner, T (Atl) Weiner could return for Sunday's game against San Francisco, though it is more likely he will come back the following week at Carolina, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Analysis: Weiner has missed the last three weeks with a knee injury. If he can't go, Tyson Clambo would take his place.
11/3/2007 Alge Crumpler, TE (Atl) Crumpler could return for Sunday's game against San Francisco, though it is more likely he will come back the following week at Carolina, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Analysis: Crumpler has missed the last two games with a knee injury and a sprained ankle. Dwayne Blakley would start in his place if he can't go.
11/3/2007 Zak Keasey, RB (SF) The 49ers signed Keasey from the practice squad Saturday.

Analysis: Keasey has spent most of the last two seasons on the practice squad, but the 49ers have signed him to the active roster for three straight weeks to help out on special teams while safety Keith Lewis is sidelined by a hamstring injury.
11/3/2007 Hannibal Navies, LB (SF) The 49ers waived Navies on Saturday.

Analysis: The 49ers have waived Navies before each of their last three games. He started two games earlier in the season, but has been limited in recent weeks by a knee injury.
11/2/2007 David Garrard, QB (Jac) Garrard told the Florida Times Union that he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a high ankle sprain

Analysis: Garrard said he plans to jog in the next couple of days. He hopes he might be able to return in Week 11.
11/2/2007 Koren Robinson, WR (GB) Robinson sat out Thursday's practice after he woke up with swelling in his surgically repaired right knee, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Analysis: Robinson hasn't played this season. The Packers are being cautious with him, and while he has been activated he probably won't see much time on Sunday.
11/2/2007 Walt Harris, CB (SF) Harris is not expected to play in Week 9 according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

Analysis: Harris hyperextended his knee last week. Shawntae Spencer will replace him in the lineup.
11/2/2007 Marvin Harrison, WR (Ind) Harrison did not practice all week and he remains questionable for Sunday.

Analysis: Coach Tony Dungy said Harrison will be a game-time decision. Harrison has been medically cleared, which leads to questions of how serious the injury is.
11/2/2007 Darrell Jackson, WR (SF) Jackson is expected to return to San Francisco's lineup after missing last week's game with a strained quadriceps.

Analysis: Jackson has been a disappointment for the 49ers. He has 18 receptions for 216 yards and a touchdown.

Analysis: Gore, who sprained his ankle two weeks ago against the New York Giants, has been limited in practice all week. He managed just 41 yards against New Orleans last Sunday, giving him 435 yards rushing and three touchdowns this season.
11/2/2007 Deion Branch, WR (Sea) Branch was supposed to have returned by now from the sprained foot that has caused him to miss Seattle's last two games. But in the short practice Friday before the Seahawks (4-3) left to play the Browns (4-3), Branch remained only partly involved in the offense.

Analysis: "We'll make that call on Sunday, but he's going to go on the trip and he's really close and he's getting better," coach Mike Holmgren said. "If he were to play he'd have a limited number of snaps ... specific plays."
11/2/2007 Matt Hasselbeck, QB (Sea) Hasselbeck and his achy side looked far better, leaving the Seahawks' quarterback ready to start Sunday's game at Cleveland.

Analysis: Coach Mike Holmgren held Hasselbeck back from throwing on-the-run, rollout passes in practices this week, but said he will not hesitate to call such plays Sunday.
11/2/2007 LenDale White, RB (Ten) White sat out practice Friday because of a toe problem, but coach Jeff Fisher said he should be available for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Analysis: Without White and Chris Brown, who has missed the past two games with a high left ankle sprain, the Titans were using rookie Chris Henry and second-year pro Quinton Ganther to take Friday's practice reps.
11/2/2007 Bobby Wade, WR (Min) Wade is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against San Diego because of a knee injury.

Analysis: Wade has been the slot receiver all season long. If he cannot play, rookie Aundrae Allison could get his first work on offense. Sidney Rice and Robert Ferguson may also rotate through that position.
11/2/2007 Tarvaris Jackson, QB (Min) Jackson was listed as probable for Sunday's game against San Diego after missing last week due to a broken right index finger.

Analysis: Jackson suffered a small break on the index finger of his throwing hand on Oct. 21 at Dallas. He will likely be back in the lineup against the Chargers.
11/2/2007 Antoine Winfield, CB (Min) Winfield was listed as questionable because of a hamstring injury that first flared up against Philadelphia last week and was tweaked during practice this week.

Analysis: Winfield did not practice on Thursday or Friday, but coach Brad Childress was holding out hope that he will be in the lineup Sunday against the Chargers. If Winfield can't go, rookie Marcus McCauley will be back in the mix after being demoted a week ago.

Analysis: No penalty was called on the play, though Kitna has complained about it this week through the media.
11/2/2007 Pacman Jones, CB (Ten) This was the day Adam "Pacman" Jones was to tell NFL commissioner Roger Goodell he's done enough to end his season-long suspension. However, whether the suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback actually met with Goodell in his office Friday was unclear.

Analysis: The NFL declined comment, as did both of Jones' lawyers. Messages left with the union, which had been scheduled to have a representative at the meeting, weren't immediately returned. When Goodell suspended Jones in April, he told the Tennessee cornerback to sit out the 2007 season and only offered to review the case after the Titans had played their 10th game. The meeting wound up being scheduled two weeks early.
11/2/2007 Marcus Washington, LB (Was) Washington was listed as questionable for the Redskins' game Sunday against the New York Jets after being limited in practice Friday with a hamstring injury.

Analysis: Washington missed two games with the injury before playing in last week's loss to New England. However, Washington felt sore following Thursday's practice. If Washington doesn't play, he would be replaced again by veteran Randall Godfrey.
11/2/2007 Vinny Testaverde, QB (Car) Testaverde missed practice for a third straight day Friday because of a right Achilles' tendon injury, and it's unlikely he'll be available to play on Sunday.

11/2/2007 Kris Jenkins, DT (Car) Jenkins was fined $7,500 by the NFL on Friday for a late hit on Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.

Analysis: Jenkins was called for a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty on Sunday for picking up Manning and driving his right shoulder into the turf after the quarterback had thrown a pass late in the third quarter.
11/2/2007 Laveranues Coles, WR (NYJ) Coles was listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Washington because of a concussion, jeopardizing a streak in which he has started every game since 2001.

Analysis: Coles was injured Sunday against Buffalo and didn't practice all week. He hasn't missed a game since his rookie season in 2000 and has a string of 104 consecutive regular-season starts. He's the only NFL wide receiver to start in every game since 2001.
11/2/2007 Benjamin Watson, TE (NE) The Patriots listed Watson as questionable for Sunday's game at Indianapolis.

Analysis: Watson has missed the last two games with an ankle injury.

11/2/2007 Sammy Morris, RB (NE) Morris was placed on injured reserve Friday, ending his first season with the team.

Analysis: Morris was hurt in the Patriots' sixth game, a 49-28 win at Dallas, and left the locker room with his left arm in a sling. The team said he had a chest injury. He was inactive for the past two games. He still leads New England (8-0) with 384 yards on 85 carries after signing as a free agent from Miami. Laurence Maroney, the Patriots first-round draft pick last year, should continue to do most of the running this Sunday against the Colts.
11/2/2007 David Carr, QB (Car) Carr is likely to start at quarterback for the Panthers on Sunday after Vinny Testaverde missed a third straight practice Friday.

Analysis: Carolina hasn't officially named a starter, but Carr practiced without any problems despite suffering from a sore back. Carr suffered compression fractures in his lower back in a win over New Orleans on Oct. 7 and sat out the following week's game at Arizona. Testaverde led the Panthers to a win against the Cardinals four days after he signed with the team.
11/2/2007 Trent Edwards, QB (Buf) Edwards is doubtful for Sunday's game because of a swollen right hand.

Analysis: Coach Dick Jauron said he'll wait until game time to determine if Edwards would be able to back up starter J.P. Losman or if he'd be ruled out completely. Gibran Hamdan would be the No. 2 quarterback if he's unavailable.
