Accent

The Accent program provides part-time, paid positions for language assistants in urban areas within a reasonable distance of the post-secondary institution they are attending.

Delivered by: Council of Education Ministers, Canada (CMEC)

Eligibility Information

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • be proficient in oral and written English or French
  • be Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • have completed, by June, at least one year of post-secondary studies or, in Quebec, have at least obtained a Diploma of Collegial Studies (D.C.S.)
  • be studying full time in a post-secondary institution (in Quebec, at a university) outside their home province or territory
  • other criteria may apply

  • Applications and supporting documents must be submitted to the coordinator in the student’s province or territory of residence.

Dates and Deadlines

  • The annual deadline for submitting applications is February 15.
  • The program runs from the beginning of September to April 30 each year.
