Please distribute this notice to people at your headquarters and/or
regional offices who are involved in the administration of the isolated post
allowances.
It has come to our attention that the EA classification index for Churchill
Falls, NFLD currently showing in Appendix A as a Level 2 should be
a Level 3. A typographical error occurred during the last
environmental classification update when the EA review was completed in 2002.
Please note there will be no cost recovery of any overpayments.
The correct EA classification rates at level 3 are as follows:
Employee with dependants - $4,859/yr
Employee without dependants - $2,915/yr
Employee with dependants - $2.33/hr
Employee without dependants - $1.40/hr
Please ensure these revised amounts are the ones used in payments made to
concerned employees.
The effective date of this change is March 1, 2007 for
implementation on the first day of the fourth calendar month after the month the
written notification is received in accordance with article 5.12.2.
Therefore the revised environmental allowance will take place on June 1, 2007.
Appendix A will be revised at a later date.
Please notify immediately all employees who are affected by this
change.
