For several decades Dr. Moens has been an active researcher in the field of meiosis; specifically, the structure, behaviour and biochemical composition of meiotic chromosome cores. Since many of the aspects are conserved in evolution, a variety of organisms, fungi, plant, insects and mammals have been investigated.
