This new bimonthly NRC journal provides a forum for the dissemination of environmental engineering and science research, encouraging interdisciplinary research collaboration to address the multifaceted nature of environmental problems. The topic areas included are environmental engineering, physical and analytical sciences, life sciences related to environmental issues, health sciences, and oceanography.
Editors
Dr. Daniel W. Smith — University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and of the Canadian Academy for Engineering; he was appointed the Canada Research Chair in Environmental Engineering in July 2002. He was the Director of the Environmental Engineering and Science at the University of Alberta and a co-director of the new Alberta Ingenuity Centre for Water Research. He is currently a co-PI in the Forest Watershed and Riparian Disturbance Project, an Environmental Engineering consultant, and affiliated with the University of Calgary Pine Creek wastewater treatment research facility.
Dr. Donald S. Mavinic — University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Dr. Mavinic is a full professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of British Columbia and Head of the Environmental Engineering group. He is a Professional Engineer in British Columbia, as well as a Fellow of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, the Engineering Institute of Canada, and the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He has published more than 200 papers and technical reports — more than half of them in peer-reviewed journals.
