The AAP is an exciting on-campus recruitment program, targeting college and university students expected to graduate, with a diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or some other specialty relevant to the position being staffed, after May 31, 2007 and before June 01, 2008 (dates may vary locally according to school terms).
The purpose of this program is to recruit and train post-secondary graduates who have the potential to become auditors within the CRA. It includes specialized training courses in tax legislation and auditing. A combination of practical work and formal training will provide apprentices with the opportunity to develop their technical, legislative and auditing skills over a period of twelve months.
Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices will be appointed to auditor positions. Current apprentice salary is $43,514 and increases to $48,323 on successful completion of the apprenticeship program.
The Auditor Apprenticeship Program is being offered in the following Canada Revenue Agency offices this year: St. John's NL, Halifax, Saint John NB, Ottawa, Sudbury, Scarborough, Mississauga, Kitchener, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Red Deer, Burnaby-Fraser (Surrey, BC), Kelowna, Penticton, and Victoria.
Our recruiters will be attending Career Fairs and hosting information sessions in a number of colleges and universities in September 2007.
Job Notices will be posted on the CRA Internet site starting in mid September. Candidates must use the on-line application to apply. Read the Notice of Job Opportunity carefully and apply early, as the process may limit the number of eligible applications.
The CRA thanks all applicants for taking time to submit an application, however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted. Selected applicants must be prepared to travel at their own expense for purposes of testing and interviews.
