Campaign signs are popping up around Nova Scotia as the federal and municipal elections get underway.
The federal vote is Oct. 14, while municipal and school board elections are on Oct. 18.
We want to hear about the issues that matter to you. What will you tell the candidates knocking on your door? What do you think they should make a priority?

I am deeply concerned about the manipulation of our democratic system by people like Mike from CB above, who affiliate themselves with The Conservative Party of Canada. I am tired of their assumptions that Canadians cannot think for themselves or do not respect deomcracy of freedom of speech enough to get the facts straight before spewing off their venom; or forget the courtesies that were extended to their own poliical parties when they were blossoming onto the political scene, as the Reform Party and the Bloc were allowed to participate in nationally-televised debates before they acheieved official party status and were not running candiates across the country.
Being in polical office is a privilege, not a right or an entitlement. Economic woes come and go. Constitutional issues come and go. Trade issues come and go. I am deepy concerned about the Conservative Party taking control of the country I deeply love, trampling all over our democratic rights and ruling by fear and hate; and seeking to abolish one of the few things this country does right and well: the CBC. If the CBC is left leaning, it is because it's a heart and voice for the country and reflecting what it hears - and fears.

One of my biggest concerns is the obvious left wing bias of the CBC. I think that everyone has a right to their viewpoint (journalists too) but am against Canadians paying over $1Billion a year for such tripe.
Today on NS CBC's news show at 6:00pm we got a free ad for Elizabeth May and her fringe Green Party. Somehow, the CBC is suggesting that may is being kept out of the federal debates because she is a woman. CBC's crew cherry picked a bunch of people who agreed with their own biased position. Not one of the "people on the street" comments were in line with the majority of Canadians that a party needs to have a seat in Parliament to have a voice in the debates.
Shame on the CBC - but I know that the CBC has none. It will take $1Billion a year off of taxpayers to put their version of politician in office. Shame!

Why is it that no one worries about or does anything for the handicapped, Disabled or elderly? After all our votes should count as something seeing as how we vote as well. It seems like the richer keep getting richer and the poorer keep getting poorer. Do they think that we are just suppose to lay down and die or what? We are humans too and we are not dieased! We still live and pay our taxes as well.

the main issue for me is health care. the riseing cost and the different health care canadians get from province to province. it doesn't look like univerisal health care. i think it's slipping away. that's my main issue.
thank you
