Healing Haiti

Ottawa's Haitian community has been shattered by the earthquake that rocked Haiti, but they are gradually moving beyond mourning and mobilizing to rebuild the Carribean nation. In this three part series, Adrian Harewood looks at what local Haitians are doing to heal themselves and their homeland.

Since the earthquake hit, many Haitian Canadians have been trying desperately to get their loved ones out of Haiti. But for refugee claimants, the possibility of reuniting with their loved ones doesn't even exist. Before the earthquake, Haiti was already the poorest nation in the western hemisphere, now it's a nation on the brink.. While the aid dollars pour in to the tiny nation, there is concern about how much is actually reaching the people.
