Who is this would-be rapper?

• He was born in Pembroke, Ont. and grew up in suburban Ottawa.

• He has a parrot named Rex Murphy.

Who is this would-be rapper?

• The aspiring rapper in this clip is Tom Green. His group Organized Rhyme, which appears in this 1992 clip, released its debut CD the same year and was nominated for a Juno award. The band broke up a short time later.

• Green's first real notoriety came with his outrageous Ottawa cable access television program. Beginning in 1994, The Tom Green Show helped pioneer a brand of "shock humour" that featured gross-out pranks played on a largely unsuspecting public.

• First picked up by The Comedy Network in Canada 1998, The Tom Green Show landed a prime spot on U.S. television's MTV in 1999. He parlayed his new-found fame into a film career, snagging a part in Charlie's Angels starring Drew Barrymore. The part led to a romance and marriage to the leading lady, but the union lasted less than six months.

• In 2001, Tom Green directed and starred in the critical flop Freddy Got Fingered. When the film won five Razzie awards for being utterly atrocious, Green was only the second director ever to show up to receive his awards.

• Green has since returned to television, hosting his own talk shows, The New Tom Green Show and later on internet TV, Tom Green Live.

• He has also released two subsequent rap records, Not The Green Tom Show in 1998 and Prepare for Impact in 2005.
