Four Symphonies in Four Conversations. These podcasts will introduce
many of the musical themes that are woven through the four symphonies
composed by Johannes Brahms. But more than that, they share the
thoughts of the National Arts Centre Orchestra's Music Director of the
past ten years, Pinchas Zukerman.
Why does the music of Brahms still have relevance today? How do his
symphonies measure up to those of some of the other titans of music,
composers such as Mozart and Beethoven? And what kind of special
friendships has Pinchas Zukerman made over the course of a lifetime of
devoted to sharing this music.
Bill Richardson discusses all this and more with Pinchas Zukerman in
these podcasts exclusively from CBC Radio 2.
