How do I contact the local news departments with a news tip?

If you've got a news tip, phone the CBC News: New Brunswick at Six assignment desk at (506) 451-4044 and in Bathurst at (506) 544-0121 for TV news.

You can also call the assignment desk of CBC Radio One news in Fredericton at (506) 451-4004, in Moncton at (506) 853-6630, in Saint John (506) 632-7752 and in Bathurst at (506) 548-5540.

How do I suggest an idea or pose a question to a local show?

Go to the Programs page, and follow the link to the show. Look for the “Contact” link for that show in the left-hand side of the show’s page.

How do I suggest an idea or pose a question to a national show?

Go to Programs A-Z, look for the listing for that show, then follow the link to the website for that show. Look for the “Contact Us” section of the site.

How can I find out the name of the song I just heard on CBC Radio?

Can I get transcripts and/or tapes of programs?

CBC Television - New Brunswick
CBC New Brunswick does not provide video copies of our local news items broadcast on CBC News: New Brunswick at Six. There are media monitoring companies that provide this service for a fee. External link opens in a new windowCision Canada in Halifax is one example (902) 422-9200.

CBC DOES NOT provide video copies of any programs featuring musical, comedy or artistic performances (ex: This Hour Has 22 Minutes, East Coast Music Awards, Songwriters' Circle). This is due to performance, and/or music rights.

For audio copies of all CBC Radio current affairs programs, please call Cision Canada in Toronto toll free # 1-877-269-3367.

For video copies of selected CBC Television or CBC Newsworld programs, call Cision Canada in Toronto toll free # 1-800-363-1281

How do I get a PSA aired on radio or a community event mentioned?

CBC Radio will accept request for public service announcements for non-profit organizations. Please send announcement at least two weeks in advance to:

Fredericton: You can call in a PSA on Information Morning's talkback line at 1-800-561-4222 or (506) 451-4100 (local).

Saint John: You can all in a PSA on Information Morning's talkback line at 1-800-632-7743 or (506) 632-7747 (local).

Or you can call in a PSA on Shift's toll-free line at 1-800-632-7743 or (506) 632-7747 (local).

Tours of CBC are offered to students with courses in media arts, journalism, or broadcasting, and to community groups with a particular interest in public broadcasting. Please call (506) 451-4080 for more information and to request a tour.
