Who better than Holger Petersen to host such a program. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all manner of the blues and the personality of a true music lover.

Holger Petersen is co-owner the Juno Award winning and Grammy nominated Stony Plain Records. He is also an award winning broadcaster with over 40 years in radio . Holger’s presence in the industry has given Saturday Night Blues access to some of the most highly regarded performers and personalities in music: BB King, Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Oscar Peterson, Ry Cooder, Bill Wyman, Mick Fleetwood, Colin James, Long John Baldry, Dan Aykroyd, Colin Linden, Amos Garrett, Maria Muldaur, Duke Robillard and countless others.

Petersen is a musicologist and record collector. His personal catalogue houses the gamut of 33’s, 45’s, 78’s, 7 inch, 10 inch, 12 inch recordings, CDs, DVD’s, from early transcription recordings to the most recent releases that have yet to hit the street. When Holger starts to talk about the music it doesn’t matter if you’ve never heard of the artist or don’t even know much about the musical style at all. You will understand why he loves it. And you are likely to love it too.

In 2008, Holger was awarded the 'Keeping The Blues Alive' Award - Public Radio from the Blues Foundation in Memphis.
