Although we have not yet launched this year's Agent 009 program we would like your help with the vote for the 2010 theme now. We need to know next year's theme earlier in order to facilitate the book buying and transcribing process for CNIB. From the Harris Decima Evaluation Report the following shortlist of themes have been selected:
Please indicate your preference for the 2010 theme by sending an email to Anna Cocca, the Toronto TD Summer Reading Club Coordinator at acocca@torontopubliclibrary.ca by April 8th, 2009. If you like, you can let us know your preference for a second choice too. The results will be sent out with in the next Newsletter. Thank you in advance for your help with next year's theme. Upcoming Training in Ontario, Quebec and Prince Edward Island Starting in April, TD Summer Reading Club Toronto Creative Committee members will provide program training at the following locations:
Lianne Fortin will provide a workshop on the summer reading club program in French at the Réseau BIBLIO de la Capitale-Nationale et de la Chaudière-Appalaches in Charny, Québec on Thursday, May 28th. As well, she will be conducting both a French and English workshop in Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Monday, June 8th. For more information on these or other workshop possibilities please contact your provincial/territorial coordinator. Lianne will also be at the APLA Conference (Atlantic Provinces Library Association) in Halifax, June 10 - 13th to answer questions, provide clues and tricks for delivering this year's program as well as handing out our beautiful posters. Drop by and see her there! Thank you to all those libraries that submitted documentation to Library and Archives Canada to qualify for the 2008 TD Summer Reading Club Library Awards. This Newsletter will include information about the prize winners when they are announced later this year. The Awards will be given out at CLA in Montreal later this spring. Round-trip transportation and accommodations will be provided for first-place applicants in both the English and French categories. Stay tuned as Library and Archives Canada will issue a press release and post the information on their website at www.td-club-td.ca/index-e.html.
