Canadiana Authorities

Introduction

Canadiana Authorities searches over 660,000 name, title and name/title authority records derived from the AMICUS database. These records were formerly available in the Canadiana CD-Rom product. Library and Archives Canada’s Canadiana name authorities represent standardized entries for Canadian authors/creators or issuing bodies including associations, government departments and agencies. Canadiana title authorities represent standardized entries for name/titles, uniform titles and series titles.

Canadiana Authorities provides a keyword searching functionality not available through AMICUS. You can view Canadiana authority records for LAC’s name, name/title, uniform title and series title authority records. You can also save the authority records in MARC 21, MARC XML or MADS.
