Planned spending for the Government of Canada

In 2008-09, a total of 127 federal organizations will deliver programs and services that contribute to economic, social, international and government affairs. Planned spending for the Government of Canada will reach a total of about $223.6 billion in 2008-09. This is $6.7 billion (or 3%) more than spending planned for 2007-08.

Planned spending numbers have been extracted from departmental and agency 2008-09 Reports on Plans and Priorities. Planned spending numbers include both budgetary and non-budgetary expenditures. For Crown corporations, which do not table an annual Report on Plans and Priorities, planned spending numbers have been taken from the Main Estimates 2008-09.
