    Accidentally tripped over this gem from archives while researching something else. Banting & Best (the latter only 23), experiment obsessively day & night in sweltering lab, sleep beside their work, discover insulin. What a gift to humanity.

    Just a note of thanks for Leon Redbone, who demonstrated immense patience and grace 40 years ago during this Canadian college newspaper reporter's first-ever real interview. My cassette recorder was the size of a shoebox. Pretty sure I still have the tape around here somewhere.
