    A group of Canadian linguists just published a study that shows Canadians disproportionately use polite and positive language on Twitter, while American tweets are characterized by negative words and profanity.

    Mrs. Trudeau is apparently a WE ambassador, which seems compromised. I don’t think spouses of politicians should do this kind of thing. The purpose is obviously building up a partisan politician’s brand in a nominally apolitical setting.

    One consistent message of is that big corporations hand out a lot of money to young people to help make their activist dreams come true. I actually think that’s a good message, given the alternative is to go begging to the government and expect taxpayers to do it.

    Honestly, with this, free speech in Canada dies. If you don’t fit the criteria set by the Liberals, you won’t get taxdollars. Every person in this country should oppose this, and the people who accept these funds.

    Mind boggling. Non-profit media orgs will be issuing charitable receipts. This is letting purely political operatives who first pretend to be journalists now pretend to be charity. I can't even process the absurdity of this.

    So there will be some sort of Trudeau-appointed panel of journalists set up to decide which media organizations are "legitimate" enough to deserve tax breaks from Ottawa. And if conservatives find problem with this, they're "conspiracy theorists." I see.

    Just brazenly using the term “Francophile” now. “I just LIKE French damnit, and government policy should reflect the things I like!”

    As a Francophile, I am outraged by Premier Ford's devastating cuts to French-language services. While he and Andrew Scheer demonstrate their lack of respect for Francophones across the country, we will always defend the right to express ourselves in our language of choice.
