"Canadians find that Canadians are super polite and better than Americans" is condescending confirmation bias at its very finest.

Trudeau today announced millions for the media in an election year. Will he apply his Canada Summer Jobs values test to determine who is eligible?

  4. Peter Mansbridge now takes the stage. I really doubt most of these kids know who he is.

  5. Mrs. Trudeau is apparently a WE ambassador, which seems compromised. I don’t think spouses of politicians should do this kind of thing. The purpose is obviously building up a partisan politician’s brand in a nominally apolitical setting.

  7. One consistent message of is that big corporations hand out a lot of money to young people to help make their activist dreams come true. I actually think that’s a good message, given the alternative is to go begging to the government and expect taxpayers to do it.

It's fascinating to watch all the people who complain about money corrupting politics then go around and support a massive government subsidy for media. If you actually believe your own logic, surely you accept that this money will distort journalism?

Honestly, with this, free speech in Canada dies. If you don’t fit the criteria set by the Liberals, you won’t get taxdollars. Every person in this country should oppose this, and the people who accept these funds.

  20. So there will be some sort of Trudeau-appointed panel of journalists set up to decide which media organizations are "legitimate" enough to deserve tax breaks from Ottawa. And if conservatives find problem with this, they're "conspiracy theorists." I see.

Just brazenly using the term “Francophile” now. “I just LIKE French damnit, and government policy should reflect the things I like!”
