Fare Deals: Book a room, help save a slot
Marriott San Jose has room package that includes $25 donation to World Wildlife Fund
Costa Rica has more flora and fauna than you can shake a palm branch at. Now one of its best-known animals – the sloth – is the star of the “Book a Room, Adopt a Sloth” package at the Costa Rica Marriott San Jose.
While you won’t be bringing a sloth home with you, the package does come with a $25 (all prices U.S.) donation to the World Wide Fund for Nature (known as the World Wildlife Fund in Canada and the U.S.). Guests can also arrange day trips to eco-tourism sites, such as Manuel Antonio National Park, or book a hike through the rainforest.
Along with the red-eyed tree frog and the white-headed capuchin monkey, the sloth is one of Costa Rica’s more recognizable species and the Costa Rica Marriott San Jose takes part in efforts to rescue and rehabilitate the slow-moving animals.
Rates for the “Book a Room, Adopt a Sloth” package start at $209 per night and also include breakfast for two. The package is available May 1 to June 30. Details about the hotel can be found at marriott.com (type San Jose into the location search engine). The booking code is I26.
