The Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group was founded in 1993 to negotiate a treaty with the Province of British Columbia and Government of Canada.[1] The organization is based in Duncan, British Columbia.

The group is made up of 6000 members from the following First Nations:
- Chemainus First Nation - Chemainus, BC
- Cowichan Tribes - Duncan, BC
- Halalt First Nation - Kuper Island, BC
- Lake Cowichan First Nation - Cowichan Lake, British Columbia
- Lyackson First Nation - Valdes Island, BC
- Penelakut Tribe - Chemainus, BC
