Yale First Nation

The Yale First Nation is an independent First Nations band government located at Yale, British Columbia.[1] It is not affiliated with either of the two Sto:lo tribal councils.

Treaty Process[edit]

The band has reached Stage 5 in the BC Treaty Process.[19] A treaty moved a step closer on November 20, 2008, when Chief Robert Hope signed an understanding between Yale First Nation and the Province of British Columbia to conclude treaty negotiations between the two parties. The signing represents an interim step prior to the final agreement being initialled by the Province, Yale First Nation and Canada.[19]
