Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement is a Metis settlement in northern Alberta, Canada within Smoky Lake County.[2] It is located along Highway 855, approximately 125 km (78 mi) northeast of Edmonton.
Demographics[edit]
As a designated place in the 2011 Census, Buffalo Lake had a population of 492 living in 160 of its 176 total dwellings, a 98.4% change from its 2006 population of 248. With a land area of 336.97 km2 (130.10 sq mi), it had a population density of 1.4601/km2 (3.782/sq mi) in 2011.[3]
The population of the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement according to its 2009 municipal census is 1,206.[4] Its population is currently estimated at 1,236.[5]
