Proposals: policy other Discussions Ideas

Note: inactive discussions, closed or not, should be archived.

Miscellany for deletion (MfD) is a place where Wikipedians decide what should be done with problematic pages in the namespaces which aren't covered by other specialized deletion discussion areas. Items sent here are usually discussed for seven days; then they are either deleted by an administrator or kept, based on community consensus as evident from the discussion, consistent with policy, and with careful judgment of the rough consensus if required.

Information on the process[edit]

What may be nominated for deletion here:

  • Pages in these namespaces: Book:, Draft:, Help:, Portal:, MediaWiki:, Wikipedia: (including WikiProjects), User:, TimedText:, Module:, Topic:, Gadget:, Gadget definition:, and the various Talk: namespaces
  • Userboxes (regardless of namespace)
  • Any other page, that is not in article space, where there is dispute as to the correct XfD venue.

Requests to undelete pages deleted after discussion here, and debate whether discussions here have been properly closed, both take place at Wikipedia:Deletion review, in accordance with Wikipedia's undeletion policy.

Before nominating a page for deletion[edit]

Before nominating a page for deletion, please consider these guidelines:

Deleting pages in your own userspace
  • If you want to have your own personal userpage deleted, there is no need to list it here; simply tag it with {{db-userreq}}. If you wish your user talk page (or user talk page archives) to be deleted, this is the correct location to request that.
Deleting pages in other people's userspace
  • Consider explaining your concerns on the user's talk page with a personal note or by adding {{subst:Uw-userpage}} ~~~~  to their talk page. This step assumes good faith and civility; often the user is simply unaware of the guidelines, and the page can either be fixed or speedily deleted using {{db-userreq}}.
  • Take care not to bite newcomers - sometimes using the {{subst:welcome}} or {{subst:welcomeg}} template and a pointer to WP:UP would be best first.
  • Problematic userspace material is often addressed by the User pages guidelines including in some cases removal by any user or tagging to clarify the content or to prevent external search engine indexing. (Examples include copies of old, deleted, or disputed material, problematic drafts, promotional material, offensive material, inappropriate links, 'spoofing' of the MediaWiki interface, disruptive HTML, invitations or advocacy of disruption, certain kinds of images and image galleries, etc) If your concern relates to these areas consider these approaches as well, or instead of, deletion.
  • User pages about Wikipedia-related matters by established users usually do not qualify for deletion.
  • Articles that were recently deleted at AfD and then moved to userspace are generally not deleted unless they have lingered in userspace for an extended period of time without improvement to address the concerns that resulted in their deletion at AfD, or their content otherwise violates a global content policy such as our policies on Biographies of living persons that applies to any namespace.
  • Note that we do not delete user subpages merely to "clean up" userspace. Please only nominate pages that are problematic under our guidelines.
Policies, guidelines and process pages
  • Established pages and their sub-pages should not be nominated, as such nominations will probably be considered disruptive, and the ensuing discussions closed early. This is not a forum for modifying or revoking policy. Instead consider tagging the policy as {{historical}} or redirecting it somewhere.
  • Proposals still under discussion generally should not be nominated. If you oppose a proposal, discuss it on the policy page's discussion page. Consider being bold and improving the proposal. Modify the proposal so that it gains consensus. Also note that even if a policy fails to gain consensus, it is often useful to retain it as a historical record, for the benefit of future editors.
WikiProjects and their subpages
  • It is generally preferable that inactive WikiProjects not be deleted, but instead be marked as {{WikiProject status|inactive}}, redirected to a relevant WikiProject, or changed to a task force of a parent WikiProject, unless the WikiProject was incompletely created or is entirely undesirable.
  • WikiProjects that were never very active and which do not have substantial historical discussions (meaning multiple discussions over an extended period of time) on the project talk page should not be tagged as {{historical}}; reserve this tag for historically active projects that have, over time, been replaced by other processes or that contain substantial discussion (as defined above) of the organization of a significant area of Wikipedia. Before deletion of an inactive project with a founder or other formerly active members who are active elsewhere on Wikipedia, consider userfication.
  • Notify the main WikiProject talk page when nominating any WikiProject subpage, in addition to standard notification of the page creator.
Alternatives to deletion
  • Normal editing that doesn't require the use of any administrator tools, such as merging the page into another page or renaming it, can often resolve problems.
  • Pages in the wrong namespace (e.g. an article in Wikipedia namespace), can simply be moved and then tag the redirect for speedy deletion using {{db-g6|rationale= it's a redirect left after a cross-namespace move}}. Notify the author of the original article of the cross-namespace move.

Please familiarize yourself with the following policies[edit]

How to list pages for deletion[edit]

Please check the aforementioned list of deletion discussion areas to check that you are in the right area. Then follow these instructions:

Not sure if needed, and may be a bit controversial considering it's an userbox. MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 19:56, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Is controversy a legitimate reason for removing a userbox? This is not an article, it's simply a template for my profile. In any case, would editing the wording to write "may kill some cancer cells" be more appropriate? I'd like to keep this template on my page so let me know if there are ways to make it more appropriate.

please delete main page and archive wont be editing after this is closed thank you Rainbow unicorn (talk) 20:22, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

  • I have deleted the archive User talk:Rainbow unicorn/Archive 1 under speedy delete reason WP:CSD#U1, but we do not delete talk pages here (User talk:Rainbow unicorn) without a stronger reason. If all you want to do is to go inactive, you can blank your talk page. The normal practice is to keep talk pages. It's reasons such as attack, 100% advertising or copyright violation that your talk page could be deleted, but I don't see that here. Instead I see DYK (audited content) success! Another idea is to replace the content with {{retired}}, which will give the idea that you will not be around. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:49, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
WP:CVUT i put a request at bureaucrats noticeboard but no response after 20 hours so i removed that also says it can be deleted here theres no good reason to keep it i would like it deleted please

  • Comment: I have found some potential sources for establishing notability; they are listed here, at the Teahouse. I'm waiting for consensus about whether each of the sources I found meets WP:42, and also to see whether anyone has access to the offline sources already cited in the draft to determine whether they meet WP:42, so I'm reserving my !vote for now. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 07:59, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep "Draft making no progress toward approval" is not a valid reason to delete, and in this specific case there are offline sources already cited, and the possibility of more as discussed at the Teahouse, (see above) that may well establish notability. DES (talk) 15:44, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Weak Delete - After reading the Teahouse discussion and the draft page I have to say that while deletion is not an optimal case for a new user's work, keeping this in limbo would not help anyone in the long run. Not valid for Peaceful nuclear explosion article. Someone translated parts of this hoax/original research and added it to Finnish Wikipedia, no doubt influenced by this page. Ten year old userspace draft for an intended Andover/Exeter Football Rivalry article. Nothing sourced so any potential article can be created anew. Ricky81682 (talk) 21:28, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Blank userspace drafts[edit]

Blank userspace drafts consisting of nothing apart from the default text produced by the Article Wizard and occasionally a rephrasing of the title. All these pages are also stale by over an year. User:Ricky81682 recently replaced the contents of quite a few of them with the template {{inactive userpage blanked}}. But this is quite unnecessary. Even in the unlikely event of a user’s return (although its worth noting that most – if not all – of these users have few or no other edits), there is nothing in the draft of even any trivial value.

Creating a draft with no content apart from the title is no better than suggesting an article. The place for that is WP:Requested articles. Given the sorry state of the Requested Articles project, we all know how worthless these article suggestions are. 103.6.159.83 (talk) 17:21, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Addendum in view of Graeme Bartlett's comment: The reason why I think deletion is necessary is that these pages flood a number of categories such as Category:Articles created via the Article Wizard, Category:Userspace drafts from <month>, and most significantly, Category:Stale userspace drafts. The latter is a place where editors can fish out plausible drafts for improvement, but this cannot happen if thr category remains flooded with blank pages. 103.6.159.88 (talk) 06:37, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

  • Sounds like pointless deletionism to me. The users who created them have not been notified. I myself would be annoyed if someone proposed a blank page of mine for deletion. Basicly these are sandboxes for experimental editing. I certainly agree that Ricky81682's changes were quite unnecessary, and for these inexperienced editors confusing and harmful. So I think ther is no need to delete. We just increase the size of Wikipedia by doing so. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:45, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
Blanking is a moderate proposal. In the past, those pages were often listed at MFD for deletion per WP:WEBHOST concerns and blanking was an option. They do appear in Category:Userspace drafts and other categories which does need to be cleared at some point. Most of these are the only edit conducted by a user two, three, four years ago so I don't see why there's such an objection to clearing out those categories so we can focus on actual drafts from years ago. There's no other way to triage out real drafts from five year old one-time edits if you don't blank or delete them. We're finally under 45k pages at Category:Stale userspace drafts and that backlog will never decrease if we can't even blank old pages. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 21:26, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
I did ask the AWBers to notify the users, but they don't seem to have acted yet. 103.6.159.88 (talk) 06:44, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Comment If user pages or subpages are blank this is not a problem; perhaps the user created the page for a reminder of a topic to work on later. Other editors who are looking on the category listings for content to improve can look at the preview pop-up boxes which tell the size and number of links, etc., or use CatScan. Blank pages in Draft space, on the other hand, might be considered to be requests for articles, (and should likely be deleted, so that another editor who actually writes a draft will get credit for its creation). If a blank user page has old history in it of an article now in mainspace or draftspace, it may need to be redirected, deleted under db-blanked, or history merged. Otherwise, according to WP:STALEDRAFT, what Ricky81682 did is within the Wikipedia:User pages guideline, provided that the user "appears to have stopped editing". The guideline is pretty vague, though, about when to use the "inactive user page blanked" template. Perhaps a discussion is needed on the talk page of that guideline if editors think that not all old abandoned user drafts should be blanked, including ones with little content, but only ones with specific types of problematic content.—Anne Delong (talk) 12:56, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
Technically these are purely blank pages. Those would be G6 eligible. These are pages with the default Article Wizard templates for the most part (some I blanked have some text there). The main point is that these are multi-year-old drafts for the most part and I do check whether the person is an active editor (necessary to check if there's a mainspace article and this isn't just a history merge issue). I use six months of inactivity which is based on when a draftspace article would be eligible under G13 and that's kind of the timeline that MFD uses. Even then, the articles aren't even deleted here. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 23:59, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete While I blanked these pages, I know that other editors take these kinds of pages and had them deleted. I think it'd be fair if they were taken to MFD to delete them but I blanked them rather than flood MFD with these requests. That said, the users should be notified of this discussion. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 00:01, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep and blank the ones that aren't already. There's nothing wrong with indefinite retention of blank pages or ones tagged with {{inactive userpage blanked}}; they don't clog up categories or otherwise cause problems, and their creators aren't left thinking that the pages were deleted for some weird reason. We can always delete the exception that has significant problems in the history (e.g. an attack page or copyvio), but as we don't have any evidence that it's a significant problem (not faulting Anne, Graeme, or Ricky, as I'm the only one to raise the issue), there's no need to mass-delete them for this problem. Also, only 3 users made note of notablity. the others mentioned "advertising" and copywrite and not enough details about the company. Thefunkygibbon (talk) 16:39, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Draft:Kenneth Mahood[edit]

Draft:Kenneth Mahood (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Original creator of this draft placed a PROD, which I procedurally declined since PROD is inapplicable in draft space. Normally, I would have simply tagged for CSD G7. However, there is another significant contributor to the draft, which invalidates CSD G7. Therefore, I will take this to MfD instead. Draft which has been declined numerous times for lack of sufficient and reliable sources and which the original contributor has requested deletion. I will leave an MfD notice for the other significant contributor. Safiel (talk) 04:06, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, Safiel, for correcting my error.
I concur in this request for deletion.
After several submissions in which I firmly believed the sources cited in the draft article conformed to the guidelines listed in WP:NOTABLE, it seems to me that the reliable sources I cited in support of Mahood's notability were the main evidence for his notability to be located without recourse to the Francis/Taylor database. Similar sources identified by another editor were not materially different enough from the sources I cited to justify the work needed to enter them in hopes they would satisfy the reviewers who examined my draft.
I have requested the other editor who discovered similar sources to mine to enter those sources into the document. I am not interested in wasting more time on this project. I had hopes he'd have better luck, and don't care whether he or I are credited with the article. All this time, I only sought to fill an odd vacuum in wikipedia in which other British cartoonists of similar renown had articles in wikipedia and Kenneth Mahood did not.
Under WP:VOLUNTEER, I'm choosing to disengage from this particular project, in the hope that another editor will revive it at a later date, and hopefully have more luck than I did in convincing reviewers that a man who'd had editorial cartoons published in Punch from 1949 to the early 1960s (becoming their assistant art editor by then), who'd become The London Times`s first editorial cartoonist, then was an editorial and sports cartoonist for the Daily Mail from 1969 to his retirement in 2009 at the age of 80, and who during that time was also an exhibited abstract paint and collage artist, and whose work also graced the New Yorker from the 1960s onward is a notable man. loupgarous (talk) 06:07, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep: (1) The subject is notable and there is no time limit. Nor does it matter if the original editor no longer wants to work on the article: this is exactly why there is draft space.
(2) The note above from Vfricky ("I'm choosing to disengage from this particular project, in the hope that another editor will revive it at a later date") suggests that leaving the article in place is what is required.
(3) Note that I have no particular interest in this article; I came across it while reviewing AfC articles and spent time improving it. Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 19:12, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep - As long as work is being on the draft, it doesn't need deleting, and deleting doesn't serve a purpose. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:16, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Comment I have noted the interest of the other substantial contributor in maintaining the draft. However, given that there have been numerous questions as to notability asserted by other reviewers, this MfD should stay open so we can get some third party opinions on this. I would not object to keeping this draft if there is a plausible chance that sufficient sourcing can be found to support the required notability. Safiel (talk) 20:29, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
    • Comment I have notified AfC; this is not showing up on the AfC deletion alerts and I believe that AfC expertise would clarify the reviewing comments (aka "numerous questions as to notability asserted by other reviewers"). Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 17:55, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep A draft declined for "notability" and "reliable sources" indicates inadequacies with the draft's sources, not necessarily that the subject is not notable. The subject is likely notable, and the draft likely salvageable. There is no reason to delete so long as improvement is being attempted and rescue is a realistic possibility. Worldbruce (talk) 19:01, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep: his breadth of work appears to put him above the WP:ARTIST threshold, but I would appreciate a few more citations. FoCuS contribs; talk to me! 21:51, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:User pages about what is allowed on user pages. You can show your opinion, but it is not allowed to publish articles on your user pages, especially when you are circumventing AfD-discussions. The Banner talk 19:08, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

"You can show your opinion" It is my opinion that this informations should beon wikipeda. so stop cencor informations.. I also dont delet your unimportant restaurand links on your page. Still interesting that youare fighting against any publication of information about the Superpuma Solodisplay and F/A-18 solodisplay, on the other hand you don't care about these Greek Solodisplay F-16 Demo Team or the Solo Display Team.Mhh Wikihounding? Everything related with swiss aviatic is not important ..? FFA P-16 (talk) 19:13, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

It's a private user page that obviously doesn't violate WP:UP.--MBurch (talk) 19:50, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
Ow, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Super Puma Display Team. And no, mr. FFA, no wikihounding. Just pointing at the fact that you try to reinstate non-relevant info. Like so many trivia that you find of the utmost importance. The Banner talk 22:55, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

It does no mater , if I want to share something who is for me important on my userpage I can do this, because a userpage is not a articelpage.. It's wikihounding.. if "it is non-relevant" like you say the F-16 Demo Team or the Solo Display Team would be " non-relevant" too but is very interesting that you don't do a thing against this two "unimportant things. But you are very eagr to delet as much as possible who is about swiss aviatic..and now you are attaking my userpage. sorry but this looks to me like Wikihounding or racist against Switzerland. In the face of lack of competence and personal attacks I am indeed not friendly and polite but strict and to the point. The Banner talk 14:16, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
@The Banner, Only threats does not change the fact that you with all your strength trying to sabotage everything I do. Your threats do not conceal that you want to censor subjects only at Swiss Aviation topics whose existence on other placesn cause you there not to be active. You are the one who lack competence and ride with your wikihounding personal attacks and anti swiss aivatic attitude. FFA P-16 (talk) 20:23, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
I have told you many times before that not every blip is notable and still you start an edit war over every trivial detail. Unfortunately, the only thing you do is shouting and roaring, accusing me from all bad things in the world and ignore all advice I have given you. And still you go on and on with your personal attacks. The Banner talk 21:20, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
For me it looks exactly the other way around The Banner and regarding the comment from Zurich00swiss I'm probably not the only one that thinks that way...--MBurch (talk) 15:05, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
See Talk:Pilatus PC-24 for example. The Banner talk 16:50, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Well, if we look at the past over 12 months, The Banner is every day very active on wikipedia (nothing weong with this), but usualy he is not avtive in aviatic topics. In this timeframe:

  • He "worked" only on 3 Airports, Amsterdam (propaply because he is from the netherlands) , Dublin (probably because he live in Ireland) he doesn't worked on any other Airport article of the whole world.. except of deleting out informations of Zürich Airport (the biggest Airport of SWITZERLAND).
  • The only Air Force Base he was "working" on was the Dübendorf Air Base (an Air Force Base of SWITZERLAND) trying to delet out informations about the Zero-G flight and other stuff.he doesn't worked on any other Air Force Base article of the whole world.. and BTW Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dübendorf Air Base The only Air Base he want have deleted was an Air Base from SWITZERLAND. No oter tiny dusty airfiled somewere...
  • The only aircraft project he want have deleted was not for e.g. the Bartini A-57, Lockheed L-2000 or Belyayev Babochkano, he wantet the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ALR Piranha from SWITZERLAND do be deleted.
  • The only aircraft (build) aircraft page he nominatet for deletion from him was the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KZD-85 from SWITZERLAND.
  • The only page about an Aircraft Type he was deleting out Informations is the Pilatus PC-24 from SWITZERLAND, interestingly what is "not-notable for ihm there

not bother him on any other page like Fairey Delta 1, Avro Ashton, Hawker P.1052.

  • From all Modern aerobatic teams and Disbanded military teams his only interest is to suppress Informations of all 4 Teams of the Air Force of SWITZERLAND, on no other Modern aerobatic team or Disbanded military team was touched from Banner. Things which he can not stand in any relation to the 4 Teams of the Air Force of SWITZERLAND not bother him on any other page even with a hint he doesent touched the Dutch Solo Display Team or F-16 Demo Team.
  • The only Air Force page who he tryes to "clean " is the one from SWITZERLAND.. Even if ther is an update or change in some projects (for eg. That the C-17 is no more a candidat as Cargoplane for the Swiss Air Force he does not want to admit.
  • The only userpage he ataked in this timeframe is my one. Inn my eyes he has also much not notable stuff on his userpage.. but I would never touch it.

So he is usualy not active in Aviatic topics most of the time with total differend topics , like Restraurants, Beautycontests,... But if it is something about swiss aivatic, and if had creadet the page or just add a few words, all hell breaks loose. I have the feeling this is Wikihounding, and Racist action against Swiss aviation topics. FFA P-16 (talk) 21:43, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Nice that you are looking up what I am doing. But we are discussing your user page, not what I am doing. And your user page is still containing previously deleted material that was deemed not-notable or even deleted after an AfD. The Banner talk 23:37, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

What's on my user page none of your business. The listing above simply shows your malicious action against Aiatic topics of switzerland. You should first "adjust" other aviation items before you fight against Swiss Avitic articles. otherwise you're simply not credible.FFA P-16 (talk) 12:23, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

Wrong, see Wikipedia:User pages. But let me politely ask you to stop your personal attacks and false accusations? The Banner talk 13:36, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

This are not false accusations, I have given the evidence, as you can see above, your only motivation in the area of aviation is to censor and delete informations associated with Switzerland. You don't Affecting another country / other aviation pages in such a way. In examples that you see noo need to delet out there something about more than 1 prototype, pilots listet up and so one. You're simply not credible.may you should first "fix" aviatic pages who are not in relation to SWITZERLAND. No freedom of expression is a fundamental right, your censorship attack is extremely vicious, just harassment and an abuse of anonymity that you have here.FFA P-16 (talk) 17:36, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject World's Oldest People/Future supercentenarians/Incomplete cases (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

It's been almost a year and I think it's time to reevaluate this page's usefulness once again. As noted before, both pages here are project pages that actually does nothing for the project nor for Wikipedia at all. Regardless of the claims that this material is useful for keeping track of the world's oldest people, none of the sources here have been used as a reference in a single article. See List of oldest living people for example which basically just cites the GRG and nothing else. Besides, we shouldn't be using individual tables of who we think is the oldest living person in the world rather than reporting what reliable sources say are the oldest living people (WP:TRUTH and WP:OR). Further, many of the names here aren't included in any lists anywhere making these nothing more than WP:FAKEARTICLE-type preferred versions of disputed content (namely, whether or not these claims are real or can be dumped into all the all-encompassing longevity claims tables is a distinction I can't figure out). If, for example, reliable sources state that "Rujjam" is in fact alive and 112 and 290 days old, he should be included on the table. If not, he shouldn't be included anywhere. There shouldn't be a (a) a table or tables; (b) a longevity claims article; (c) this table; and (d) finally no inclusion at all. There's no basis for determining all those here. The massive editing here has zero relationship to the actual encyclopedia. Finally, even though the main longevity tables require a minimum of age 110 to avoid being complete ridiculous, these tables attempt to keep track of speculation about people who are aged 108 and above, meaning that the people at the bottom of these lists are going to be listed here for three years before there is even a possibility of their inclusion (which again, seeing as how few articles actually use a single source from here, makes that remote). The only purpose of this page I speculate is some off-wiki usage for a particular group of individuals so that they can use these pages as a WP:WEBHOST for all their information. If they are worried about losing a ton of information they can take it all to Gerontology wikia which is the proper place for this level of detail about this subject. Ricky81682 (talk) 11:27, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

  • Keep as has been said in earlier discussions, this is not a fake article. This is a page to keep track of information to better keep the main list up to date. — AMK152 (tc) 22:34, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
But it is never used in any manner to keep the main list up to date. It has been eleven months since the last discussion. Can you point me to a single source from here been used anywhere else? Has any name been transferred in close to a year? The only thing this is is another table, one that is for some reason different than the main list and different than longevity claims or the other pages. So what use is it? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 04:08, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep because this list helps seek information a lot of those people who has reached to 107-110 year old and add them on the list after confirmed 107th birthday and remove them after the following person has passed away or reached to 110 year old. But that another list of Incomplete cases most of them are probably limbo or passed away and that page can be delete. That's my opinion. 85.134.25.113 (talk) 04:53, 13 November 2015 (UTC) 85.134.25.113 (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
But Wikipedia's main articles don't include anyone from age 107-110. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 11:02, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep - this is a most useful resource for those interested in the field, and has proved to be most valuable. Alan Davidson (talk) 09:59, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
But is this useful to this project? The problem has been a decade of people "interested in the field" using Wikipedia for their purposes not Wikipedia's. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 11:02, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Yes Alan Davidson (talk) 02:29, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
You care to explain how? Again, can you point to a single reference from this page that was used anywhere in an article for the encyclopedia (namely, article space)? A single name? A single source? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 03:05, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete Wikipedia is not a web host for "researchers" accumulating data on people who might have sources supporting notability as articles/list entries years from now (but almost none of whom will, for obvious reasons). EEng (talk) 11:59, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep. This is the only way for researchers to keep track of this information here. The project has lasted a decade with all this information, it can't be lost now. 166.171.121.117 (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
Your comment is the best proof yet that Wikipedia is being used as a hosting service for "researchers", instead of for building the encyclopedia. EEng (talk) 20:26, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep, This page is not using Wikipedia as a hosting service. It helps a lot of people. 62.80.158.106 (talk) 13:40, 15 November 2015 (UTC) 62.80.158.106 (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.
  • Delete Looks alot like a fake article with the sole purpose of speculating who's next though wikipedia in not a WP:Crystalball. There are other locations to web host this.-Serialjoepsycho- (talk) 05:28, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete. While I am usually willing to allow for a lot of leeway when it comes to how the guidelines for user/project spaces are utilized, here I see nothing but an unabashed use of Wikipedia as a webhost here. Any benefit to the project seems to be incidental. Canadian Paul 23:18, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Delete as this seems like a list of people about to die. It is pure Crystal ball to suggest that a 107 year old person could become a 110 year old person. In fact it is extremely unlikely. Also why the arbitrary cut off - every living person should be on this list. Legacypac (talk) 18:22, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
I believe the 107 year old were merged here following Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:AMK152/107. It used to be 108 and thus only a year and change before we'd have a discussion on including them. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 10:18, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
so the info was deemed not worthy of the encyclopedia so someone moved it here? Legacypac (talk) 00:06, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
It's only been a year, it takes time to get rid of these things. This project has caused problems for over a decade now so some people are playing the long game. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 01:25, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
It's only been a year, yes, and so attempts to delete should not be considered annually without some new reason not raised previously. Alan Davidson (talk) 02:33, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
It's been a year since the last deletion and the same problems exist, namely that for all intents and purposes this does absolutely zero for the people who read or use the encyclopedia. The only purpose is for some people who have some off-wiki interest in the topic to work here and abuse Wikipedia's resource as a WP:WEBHOST. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 03:07, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Keep This is exactly the kind of page that WikiProjects create to identify future potential articles. I look forward to the future creation of articles from the candidates identified on this list. Alansohn (talk) 02:43, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Can you point to one? Do you expect one of the "Anonymous 108 years old in a prefecture in Japan" to suddenly become an article? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 03:05, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
