Division No. 8 is a census division in Alberta, Canada. It is located in the south-central portion of central Alberta and surrounds the City of Red Deer. The division forms the central segment of the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor. Division No. 8 is the smallest census division in Alberta according to area.[2]

In the 2011 Census, Division No. 8 had a population of 189,243 living in 72,774 of its 80,324 total dwellings, a 7.9% change from its 2006 population of 175,337. With a land area of 9,909 km2 (3,826 sq mi), it had a population density of 19.1 people per square kilometre in 2011.[1]

In 2006, Division No. 8 had a population of 175,337 living in 71,425 dwellings, a 14.6% increase from 2001. The census division has a land area of 9,909.31 km2 (3,826.01 sq mi) and a population density of 17.7 inhabitants per square kilometre.[5]
