Usage

The {{WikiProject Schools}} template adds an article's talk page to Category:WikiProject Schools articles and its subcategories. Please place this template onto relevant articles' talk pages. This template should be transcluded and not substituted {{subst:}}, because it employs conditional code. Transclusion also allows easy updating of all of the Project's talk pages without having to edit thousands of pages.

The template also employs several optional data field parameters as described below. For an example of how the template will appear under various parameter circumstances, please see Template:WikiProject Schools/Examples.

Basic syntax

{{WikiProject Schools

Parameters legend

  • class: Options are FA, A, GA, B, C, Start, Stub, or List (based on the Wikipedia 1.0 Assessment Scale); or Template, Dab, Cat, Redirect, or NA all of which are recognized. If blank, this will default as Unassessed.
  • importance: Options are Top, High, Mid, Low based on this scale or NA for articles like templates. If blank, this will default as Unknown importance.
  • needs-infobox: Answer yes if the article needs an infobox or no if not. This field is typically populated by User:BoxCrawler.
  • auto: Answer yes if the article will be automatically assessed by a bot.
  • hide-auto-cats: Answer yes if you are using this template in an example.
  • info: Reasoning for the given assessment (remember to sign with ~~~~). Assessment is not displayed if not specified.
  • listas: Used for changing the sortkey.
  • move: If specified, provides a link to move the page to place specified by parameter. This parameter should be the name that the page should be moved to without the namespace. So, for the talk page of "School Name" the parameter would be "move=School Name (Municipality, Region/State)" (e.g. For an article named Council High School (Idaho), specify the parameter move=Council High School (Council, Idaho))
  • small: Answer yes if the template needs to be smaller and lined up vertically on the side of the talk page.

Notes

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
