Census Division No. 9 Portage la Prairie is part of the Central Plains Region of the Province of Manitoba, Canada. The major service center of the area is the City of Portage la Prairie. The economic base of the area is agriculture, food processing and manufacturing. The population of the area as of the 2006 census was 23,086. Also included in the division are the Dakota Plains First Nation and the largest portion of the Long Plain First Nation.
