Gary Gutting is an American philosopher and holder of an endowed chair in philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. He is an editor of Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews. Through his publications in such media outlets as The New York Times and The Stone, he has adopted the role of a public intellectual.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] He deals with both continental and analytic philosophy and has written on bridging the analytic-continental divide.[10]
