  5. Yeah, but solar power was really expensive when Ontario launched its feed-in tariffs in 2009 and the sun doesn't shine at night and the wind doesn't always blow.

I know this is not what our government wanted. They rolled the dice. We all lost. I do not envy Premier Kenney and the choices he now has to make. But, we need him to show up and lead even as we're all going to lose a lot more. That's it. That's all I feel tonight. 5/5

The vaccine is a light, but it's too far away. It also makes this so much sadder. People who would be at the front of the vaccine lines are not going to make it to their first or second shot. Some cases weren't avoidable. The worst case counts in the country were. 4/

I hope the gov't will step up and protect the people and the businesses that will now be the victims of these measures. I hope our healthcare workers can weather the storm that coming and from which there's no escape. It feels really dark today. 3/

Now, we're faced with the need for a much longer period with more restrictions on contacts to get control back. We're going to see more deaths and more long term illness than we needed to see. We're also going to miss a lot of things we all enjoy. 2/

Things are going to get bad in Alberta. I've been worried about it since our cases started to tip up this summer and govt decided we could manage a little bit of COVID-19 with Goldilocks measures. Going from 25 to 50 cases, or from 50 to 100 cases seemed manageable. It wasn't. 1/

Maybe if someone told Premier that said something mean about the oil sands? He'd likely have a response to that on the record in time for the evening news.

So, would you say that Alberta should be expanding thermal coal facilities for export? And, if Canada should get credit for LNG displacing coal in Asia, how should we account for our thermal coal exports to Asia? .

It's chartapalooza day! I chose the graph (excluding COVID cases) that I updated most frequently during the past 8 months: EIA oil demand forecasts. It's startling how the 2008-09 GFC almost disappears from the graph. See all the charts here:
