Bangladeshi Canadians are Canadian citizens of Bangladeshi descent or a Bangladesh-born person who resides in Canada. It is estimated that around 1,500,000 (2012)[2] Bangladeshi people live in Canada,[3] primarily in provinces like Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and Alberta. They live in cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa. There are many Bangladeshi shops and restaurants in Toronto's Danforth Village between Dawes Road and Victoria Park Avenue.

Demographics[edit]

The official number of Bangladeshi Canadians as of 2006 is only 24,600. According to Statistics Canada, the Bangladeshi-Canadian population as determined by the 2006 census in the ten Canadian provinces and three territories were:[4]
