White Earth Tribal and Community College is a community college in Mahnomen, Minnesota.
History[edit]
The White Earth Reservation Tribal Council established the WETCC in 1997.[1]
Programs[edit]
The WETCC provides training in a wide range of career fields:
- five associate of arts degree programs,
- four associate of applied science degree programs,
- occupational programs,
- certificate options [2]
Partnerships[edit]
The WETCC computer science center serves the college, White Earth Reservation, and surrounding communities. The WETCC has articulation agreements with Minnesota State University Moorhead, Bemidji State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth. The college is affiliated with American Indian Higher Education Consortium and the National Association of Land Grant Institutions. WETCC is a member of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC), which is a community of tribally and federally chartered institutions working to strengthen tribal nations and make a lasting difference in the lives of American Indians and Alaska Natives. WETCC was created in response to the higher education needs of American Indians. WETCC generally serves geographically isolated populations that have no other means accessing education beyond the high school level.[3]
