WikiProject Women/Women in Red
Did you know that 15% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women? Not impressed? "Content gender gap" is a form of systemic bias. This is the issue we address at Women in Red (WiR), a division of WikiProject Women. If you'd like to create women's biographies and articles about women's works, we warmly welcome you!

- >When did conductor Yuri Temirkanov, the music director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, state that "The essence of the conductor’s profession is strength. The essence of a woman is weakness", to convey his views on the appropriateness of women conductors?[1] Was it in 1893, 1923, 1953, 1983, 1993 or 2013? To find out the answer, see Women in musicOnBeyondZebrax • TALK 17:09, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

Our attention has also been drawn to the red links on the lists of British and Commonwealth Birthday Honours for 2015 and earlier. They can be accessed from Category:Birthday Honours. Some of the more notable red-linked women could also be listed in the appropriate task lists in this section.--Ipigott (talk) 18:17, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
The top priority for November 2015 is Women in Science in connection with a three-week virtual editathon. See our evolving list of red links covering this area.

November[edit]
Metrics (new articles) [edit]
- Our goal is to create at least 500 new articles per month.
- Add newly-created articles in alpha order (to avoid duplicates).
- Remove duplicates and redlinks.
- It is gnome-ish work, but someone needs to do it… Grab all the articles which are within our scope from here, Wikipedia:WikiProject Women's history/New articles -- they are only viewable for 14 days -- and add them to our permanent list.
- Also:
-
- If the article is about an artist, consider adding it here → WikiProject Women artists—New articles.
- If the article is about a writer, consider adding it here → WikiProject Women writers—New articles.
- If it meets the qualifications for DYK?, nominate it here (more experienced WiR members would be glad to help you if you are new to WP:DYK!) → Did you know nomination page.
