Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.
Shortcuts:

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in deletion debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page. Please do not request that articles deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7 or G11 be undeleted here.

Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

I am a new member on Wikipedia and I am still in the learning process on how to create pages. I request first of all to get a copy of my deleted page. Secondly, I created a page that is in Arabic language but I created it in en.wikipedia by mistake. So I would like to retain a copy of the article if you don't mind. To explain, the article was deleted by speedy deletion, and one of the admins claimed that it was copied from a website, but the truth is that only the section of the "leaked official governmental documents" (which should not be paraphrased under any circumstance and should be copied at they are without any edits) were copied, which I believe makes sense. In the article that I created, I already explained that explicitly. The speedy deletion didnt give me a chance to at least edit the page and maybe delete the whole section of the "leaked official governmental documents". In any case, it would be great if I got a copy of the article, and also if it can be undeleted so I can edit it and remove the controversial section. -Alikhandro.farhat (talk) 08:54, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

If I recall correctly, the page was 99% identical to the provided url, but I am not entirely sure. @Alikhandro.farhat: since it contains copyright material I will not restore it, but I have emailed you a copy of the text. It does not matter whether the material is leaked Government documents, if it is copyright Wikipedia cannot host it. Read Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources. Yes, Wikileaks publishes leaked documents in full, but Wikileaks does not operate within the law, and Wikipedia does. (Note that Wikileaks has no connection with the Wikimedia Foundation). I advise you to take advice on the Arabic Wikipedia before writing an article there about this material.
If you are learning to be a Wikipedia contributor, you should also read WP:Assume good faith (ar:ويكيبيديا:افترض_حسن_النية) and WP:No personal attacks (ar:ويكيبيديا:لا_للهجوم_الشخصي). Comment: the page is now deleted, and as I deleted it I will leave it to another admin to reply to the request for undeletion: but I will explain that Wikipedia is quite choosy about article subjects, requiring references to "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject," and that the notability standard for musical performers is explained at WP:MUSICBIO. Since it was made by a sockpuppet you might want to do a cut/paste of the content after you're done - people can be really touchy about articles created by a sock, so I'm worried that if you moved it back with the original author in the history, it might be retagged.   • I actually managed to restore it without the original editor's edit. It looks like they only made the initial edit and you made almost all of the subsequent edits, so it made it a bit easy to do. You can talk to RoySmith about getting the page restored or userfied, as he seemed open to the idea. The main thing you'd need to do is show where she's received more coverage.
