June jobless rates down in 7 states, up in 3; payroll jobs up in 25 states, down in 107/16/2021
In June, unemployment rates were lower in 7 states and the District
of Columbia, higher in 3 states, and stable in 40 states. Nonfarm
payroll employment increased in 25 states, decreased in 1 state,
and was essentially unchanged in 24 states and the District.
June jobless rates down over the year in 386 metro areas; payroll jobs up in 16407/28/2021
Jobless rates were lower in June than a year earlier in 386 of the 389
metropolitan areas and higher in 3. Nonfarm payroll employment was up
in 164 metropolitan areas over the year and essentially unchanged in 225. Current

Annual average unemployment rates increased in all 50 states and the
District of Columbia in 2020. Employment-population ratios decreased
