Wonju is the most populous city in Gangwon province, South Korea.
Wonju is a city approximately 140 kilometres (87 mi) east of Seoul and the capital can be reached within 1hr 20 minutes by bus or train. Wonju was the site of three crucial battles during the Korean War.
