Polish National Ballet

The Polish National Ballet is a ballet company founded by the Polish government in 2009. In 2015 Krzysztof Pastor is the director of the Polish National Ballet.[1]

History[edit]

There was a previous ballet national ballet company in Poland, organized in 1937 by Nijinska in Warsaw.[2]

The Polish National Ballet was established on 29 April 2009 by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Bogdan Zdrojewski upon a motion from the General Director of the Grand Theatre – National Opera, Waldemar Dąbrowski.

In 2013, the ballet company participated in a worldwide revival and celebration of Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, performing three versions.[3]
