Connecting with Others

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) works with many stakeholders, governmental and non-governmental partners to become a more efficient and effective correctional system, better equipped to manage a diverse and complex offender population.

Since most offenders will eventually return to the community, CSC's relationships with its partners are key in offender reintegration. Input from individuals, associations, organizations and other levels of government helps CSC shape policies, programs and legislative initiatives.

CSC also works in close collaboration with a wide range of criminal justice partners, including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, provincial and municipal police forces, the criminal courts, and Parole Board of Canada. These partners rely on each other to share detailed information on federal offenders, both in custody and on conditional release in the community.
