Prime Minister Justin Trudeau meets with President Raimonds Vējonis of Latvia during the NATO Summit in Warsaw, Poland.

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, met today with President Raimonds Vējonis of Latvia.

The two leaders discussed their future increased cooperation in the context of Canada’s leadership as the Framework Nation for the multinational battlegroup in Latvia under NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence.  They underscored that this will contribute significantly to strengthening the Canada-Latvia bilateral relationship, and will make a significant contribution to NATO’s security.

They also discussed the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union, which will foster growth and benefit citizens.
