Here’s your chance to build on a dream. The Canadian Museum for Human Rights began as the inspiration of the late Dr. Israel Asper, O.C., O.M., and Babs Asper. They envisaged a new national museum that would explore human rights issues, past and present, from a Canadian and international perspective. 

The Museum would not exist today without that inspiration. And it would not exist without the work done by the Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. A registered Canadian charity founded in 2002, this is the group that first proposed a new national museum. It did all the initial planning, promotion, “awareness-raising” and development.
