Summer at the Museum

Come join the fun!

Open Seven Days a Week all summer

Join us this summer for a variety of activities that will inspire you to think about art and architecture, reconciliation and women’s rights. Other activities will foster ongoing human rights dialogue and celebrate diversity and ability.  Join us on weekends for activities for the whole family and make some memories that will last a lifetime.

Monday: Art and Architecture

Be inspired by our largest human rights exhibit – the building itself. Reflect on Winnipeg’s human rights history using our app from the Israel Asper Tower of Hope. Bring the kids for a special program to explore the building. Experience how art is used in the human rights discussion.

Tuesday: Reconciliation

We all have a personal connection to reconciliation. Explore the many facets of reconciliation through our exhibits and take part in activities that will deepen you knowledge.

Wednesday: Human Rights Today

The story of human rights is still unfolding. Learn more about human rights stories that inform current discussions and about measures that protect rights.

Thursday: Women and Rights

2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the first women winning the right to vote in Manitoba. Recognize this important milestone by taking part in activities designed to celebrate inspirational and empowering women.

Friday: Celebrating Abilities

Everybody has unique abilities. The Museum is striving to be the most accessible and inclusive museum in the world. Join us to learn more about braille and how to use our award-winning app to navigate the Museum.

Saturday and Sunday: Family Days

We’ll help you plan your child-friendly visit, taking into account the ages and interests of everyone in your group. Explore the Museum with a scavenger hunt or join in engaging activities found in multiple galleries. Kids love climbing the ramps, playing in the Lights of Inclusion game, or taking in the views from the Israel Asper Tower of Hope. A visit to the Museum on family days offers a memorable experience for all ages.
