Disclosure of Contracts

Overview

Reports

On March 23, 2004, the government announced a new policy on the mandatory publication of contracts over $10,000.

This website provides information on contracts issued by or on behalf of this institution. Every three months we will be reporting contracts awarded by the institution in the previous three months.

Beginning on October 31, 2004, and every three months thereafter, this website will be updated to include information on new contracts awarded.

The rules and principles governing government contracting are outlined in the Treasury Board Contracting Policy. The objective of government procurement contracting is to acquire goods and services, including construction services, in a manner that enhances access, competition and fairness and results in best value to Canada.

Please note that information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act does not appear on this website.

Best efforts have been made to reflect the contracts activities issued by or on behalf of the department.

As of Q3 2008-09, the following items have been added to the Proactive Report:

  1. Amendments to contracts with values above $10K, or which bring the value of an original contract above $10K, awarded on or after Oct 1 2008;
  2. Standing Offers and Supply Arrangements put in place for the department on or after Oct 1 2008 (as these are not contracts, they are shown with a $0 value); and
  3. Information showing if the contract is competitive, sole sourced, the result of an Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN), or a call-up against a Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) procurement tool.
