Today, at the site of the future Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station, The Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario and Ontario Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca; Adam Vaughan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister (Intergovernmental Affairs) and Member of Parliament for Spadina-Fort York, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities; York Region Chairman and CEO Wayne Emmerson; and Josh Colle, Toronto Transit Commission Chair and Toronto City Councillor (Ward 15 Eglinton-Lawrence) marked the completion of track installation for the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension.

Category III Instrument Landing Systems Operational at St. John's International Airport
St. John’s International Airport Authority announced today that its three-year, $37.3 million Airfield Accessibility and Safety Initiative is fully complete with Category III Instrument Landing Systems (CAT III ILS) now operational on both ends of the primary runway (R11/29). As a result, the airfield’s accessibility is enhanced significantly to 99% during low visibility conditions, allowing an estimated 700 more flights and 70,000 more passengers to arrive and depart annually without delays or cancellations. The project was completed on budget and ahead of its estimated completion date of March 2016.

The Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, on behalf of the Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport; the Honourable Brian Mason, Alberta Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure; and Don Iveson, Mayor of the City of Edmonton, today marked the official completion of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway (QEII) and 41 Avenue Southwest Intermodal Access project in Edmonton, Alberta.
